Helena & Jake
Intimate and relaxed family celebration
This wedding is just so joyful! A quintessentially covid style wedding, this pam dem day was filled with the chicest outfits (check out Helena's second outfit, we just love it!), gorgeous details and loads of laughs! It was a true family affair; a pretty impressive homemade cake took centre stage at the garden party reception with the couple's nearest and dearest.
Helena tells us more "We got married in August 2020. Due to the pandemic we had to change our original plans. We ended up having an intimate wedding and we couldn't have asked for a more magical day. We could only have four guests to the ceremony so we had our parents. To my surprise, when I arrived at the registry office lots of our friends were waiting outside and they created an aisle so that my dad could still walk me down the aisle- Jake was waiting at the end- very emotional- what amazing friends.
After the ceremony we walked back to Jake's parents garden through west Bridgford and past our old primary school- we have known each other since then. It was lovely to have pictures in so many places that were special to us as a couple.
We had the wedding breakfast in Jake's parents garden- our families had made it all look so special. Jake's brother (a bar manager) had even set up a little bar with bespoke cocktails. After the meal I got changed into trousers and crop top ready to dance and Emily Katy captured some beautiful images on the fields behind the house.
Although it was very different to the large wedding we had planned it ended up being the most perfect intimate day- we were floating on a cloud all day. All of the suppliers were absolutely fabulous and so supportive in the strange scenario and a special mention goes to Emily and Katy captured who our day perfectly!"

When one of the Save The Date family gets married, you know it is going to be an absolute treat and Jenn, who you may have seen running the social media at our events, did not let us down. Her day was one of the most genuine and sincere weddings we’ve seen (and we have seen a lot!).
Always planning to have an intimate wedding, the couple found the perfect wedding spot in Jenn’s Mum’s garden and everything else just fell into place for the perfect (2) wedding days.
If you heard a high pitched noise through the skies of the East Midlands recently, it may well have been when we first saw these pictures! We’ve been following Nottingham lass, Bex for a few years now and, especially after a year of covid postponements, we were thrilled to see her and Ryan finally tie the knot – and, let’s face it, in pretty legendary style too!
Sometimes our amazing East Midland's suppliers go slightly further afield and Chris from Artisan X couldn't resist making the trip to Sweden to photograph the ultra cool ceremony of Moe and Peter at the stunning ice hotel and we can't blame him one bit! The frosty backdrop created these utterly spellbinding images which remind us of the ice palace in frozen and we bet that Moe felt just like a true ice queen on the day too.
We are just so happy to see weddings going ahead again. As with every part of our lives, there are some slight adjustments to ensure safety; lower numbers, social distance measures and, of course, masks are now essentials alongside the tissues and confetti! But the course principles of weddings are exactly the same - celebrating love and sharing special moments with loved ones.
Love Is Not Cancelled. You know that, here at Save the Date HQ, we love something a little different; when a couple push the norm and make their wedding day super stylish and extra unique. Well, didn’t Sian and Conor absolutely smash it in their Covid19 era mini wedding?
A Micro Wedding with Serious Style. “The COVID pandemic has had devastating effects on the wedding industry and we were one of the 2020 couples that faced such uncertainty and were stuck in limbo for 5 months surrounding our wedding.”
We think this wedding day goes a long way to show that smaller, intimate weddings can still be stunningly stylish affairs. In the beautifully rural backdrop of Thorpe Gardens, Joely and Paul said I do with a handful of friends and family and we’ve been given a sneak peek into their luscious lockdown day of love. So get ready to swoon over these gorgeous images and have a read of Joely’s details from the day.
Sometimes the best laid plans just aren't meant to be. We love how this couple embraced the situation, went for it and ended up having the most amazing day full of gorgeous details (check out all those dreamy dried flowers!). Get ready for some major lockdown loveliness and micro wedding magic as Becca tells us a bit more about the day…
We always think that being a wedding photographer must be a pretty special profession; spending your working day with couples celebrating their love for each other and being surrounded by joy and romance! They are also in a unique position where they experience every aspect of the entire day. From the excitement and nerves of a bride getting ready to first dances and bouquet throws, the photographer is there, snapping away, throughout the lot. And it is because of this, that we always love to get the low-down on a wedding from their point of view.
An intimate and relaxed family celebration.
