Moe & Peter

Welcome to the wedding of Moe and Peter at The Ice Hotel

Truly magical and swoon-worthy ceremony at Sweden's famous Ice Hotel

Sometimes our amazing East Midland's suppliers go slightly further afield and Chris from Artisan X couldn't resist making the trip to Sweden to photograph the ultra cool ceremony of Moe and Peter at the stunning ice hotel and we can't blame him one bit! The frosty backdrop created these utterly spellbinding images which remind us of the ice palace in frozen and we bet that Moe felt just like a true ice queen on the day too.

Enjoy these enchanting images and Chris will tell us more about his experience shooting in such an amazing location...

Eye Candy

Chris says…

This is a very different kinda shoot for me as not only was it overseas but it was also at the amazing IceHotel in Sweden! Organised by my fellow creatives at Way Up North, it was an amazing opportunity I couldn’t miss!

The couple we were working with were Moe & Peter, they are celebrities in Sweden and they’d met on the set of the movie “The Huntress” so they were used to getting photographed… probably in warmer climates though!

So I really pushed myself to deliver really creative Photography, and as it was just the two of them it was different to my usual documentary style wedding photography as there were no other guests.

The IceHotel is a bit of an adventure to get too (flight to Stockholm, then on to Kiruna) and I can say with all sincerity that it lives up to its amazing reputation. We were blessed with some amazing weather during their day, and after shooting inside the actual hotel, we went out on snowmobiles to some fire pits in the snow.

The couple were very at ease during the session, laughing and joking and when it came to their portraits, it was super easy as the couple didn’t need to be too posed.

It was so cold that I had to borrow a full on ice suit from the outward bounds store, and it was amazing! I was able to plough straight through the snow, without getting wet or cold. Although I did look like a telly tubby, it was well worth it! I was able to convince them towards the end of the day (as the sun dipped down and it got COLD) to try a few dynamic images to compliment the more candid portraits and I’m thankfully they gave me the opportunity!

The IceHotel is a fantastic location, filled with amazing art, and I loved having the opportunity to shoot this intimate wedding there”
