Come and learn more about lab grown rings…

With engagement and wedding rings being one of the more expensive elements of getting married, you want to make sure you get it right. There are so many options to choose from and, especially with the growing trend of lab-grown stones, it can feel like a step into the unknown. Well, we have done the leg-work for you and got the down low on this newly popular option from your local bling experts. High quality, exceptional customer service and trustworthy are the three things which first springs to mind when we think of Nottingham jewellers, Temprell, so who better to ask.Leanne, manager of Temprell, was more than happy to help;

So Leanne, we hear that Temprell is offering a new range of diamonds?

Yes, alongside our natural diamond collection, we are now offering an exciting new range of lab grown diamonds. Customers can view our stunning jewellery range in-store, or they can hand select their own diamond and utilise our bespoke design process.

Can you tell us a bit about how lab grown diamonds compare to mined diamonds?

So, lab grown diamonds are physically, chemically and optically identical to natural mined diamonds - it is simply their origin which is different.They form in a very similar way, under intense heat and pressure, but with a ‘diamond seed’ in a man-made environment. They are then manufactured (cut and polished) using identical techniques and can even be graded in the same way (and therefore have a diamond certificate).

Is this a more ethical choice of diamond?

Lab grown diamonds are easily traceable and having a mine-free alternative, allows our customers more choice.

There has previously been a stigma about lab grown diamonds; how would you reassure someone considering picking lab grown and what are the main pro’s?

Often, when talking with our customers, their first question is ‘but are they real diamonds?’ ... Yes, they are 100% real diamond.As well as being a mine-free alternative, their identical properties make them just as hardy for the day-to-day wear required by engagement rings and wedding bands. The main difference with lab grown diamonds is cost; you can achieve a larger carat weight and higher quality with a limited budget.

This is essentially due to the efficiency of creating the diamonds... taking weeks instead of billions of years to form! At Temprell we use a small selection of trusted suppliers and are passionate about creating your dream jewellery. So, whether it’s a natural or lab grown diamond you choose, we can ensure you will treasure your piece for your up-coming memorable day and beyond.
