Top tips to help you with your sustainable wedding stationery

Eco-friendly is the wedding trend that is here to stay; in fact, as it becomes a more integral part of everyone’s day to day life, making your wedding sustainable is often a huge priority and something suppliers are more focused on also. When Emily Hughes started fashion forward stationery brand, Bluebell Press, she worked hard to find ways to be less wasteful and more economical in her practices. Emily has kindly given us her top tips to help you with your sustainable wedding stationery and also save you some pennies.

Emily says;

“There are lots of ways to be eco savvy with your wedding without compromising on style, the most important things to think about with your whole wedding is, re-use, recycle, resourceful.

What can be re-used, flowers can move from the ceremony to the reception area. Recycle old furniture or mirror for your table plan and be resourceful with your outfits by asking groomsmen to wear a suit they already own.

There are loads of ways to be sustainable and here are my tips for wedding stationery.

Check out Emily’s top tips below…

1 - Firstly, re-use. Wedding stationery can be seen as a single use item by many but if you use a design that is re-usable, then it can be used for along time to come. Our wedding beer mats are a fond favourite with couples, they’re printed onto recycled card and can easily be recycled once they have been used. Many comment that it’s so nice to see them scattered around guests houses as a reminder for their upcoming wedding day

2 - Second, recycle. Choose a stationer that prints onto recycled card, you can get so many card styles that are available in a recycled option, iridescent, textured, gloss. You don’t have to compromise on style or design. I would also avoid anything that is laminated as this isn’t recyclable

3 - Finally, get resourceful. Use objects you already have as props for you wedding day stationery, like table plan or welcome sign. Write ontomirrors for welcome sign or print your table plan to sit inside a nice frame. Or print onto something that is organic & sustainable such ascotton, these signs and banners are such a great photo background and will wow your guests, especially when they realise it’s kind to theenvironment and will look great hung in your home after.”
