Craig & Stevie at Norwood Park

We’ve fallen completely head over heels in love for Craig, Stevie and their fabulous dog Robert. Their Summer wedding at Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire is nothing short of stunning. Here’s Liam from Boda Wedding Photography to tell us a little more about Craig & Stevie’s wedding day:

Clipping and preening his floral artworks, the Norwood Park gardener tended to his last horticultural duties for the morning. The sun was shining and in the distant he caught the first sight of one of the Grooms, Craig - admiring the immaculate lawns before turning his attention to the wonderfully ornate Gazebo that would play host to their ceremony. As the gardener slipped away into anonymity, the other Groom, Stevie - emerged, holding their beloved Wauzer (half-schnauzer, half-westie) named Robert, and seeking out a bacon roll in the breakfast room.

“For today was The Day, and Norwood Park was the Place for Craig and Stevie to tie the knot and confirm their commitment to each other after 10 years of their vibrant relationship together.

“As the Grooms occupied either wing of the house, pulling up socks, tying ties and receiving admiring glances back from the ornate mirrors in each room, the guests started to arrive via the winding country road, traversing the golf course, trees and orchards, filling the back garden and patio.

“A same sex wedding is often a blast but when Craig is also the owner, revivor and great showman of one of the most notable pubs in the City Centre of Nottingham, the Lord Roberts, and bringing some lost Pride right back into the community, you can guarantee that this particular wedding was going to be on another level.

“The ceremony took place in the gardens, under the sunshine that popped in and out of the light clouds. The celebrant, Trudi Moloney, led the service perfectly and as the crowd cheered their unity, the tears were also flowing for Stevie, attracting the calm embrace of Craig and a curious couple of woofs from Robert.

“The piano, played by one of the Groomsmen, Alex Jenkins, played the Grooms back out onto the grounds, ready for the Aperol Spritz that greeted them - a perfect touch for a sun-kissed day.

“As the photos were snapped and the Spritz’ were consumed, Fine and Dandy Events set about putting their stylistic touches to the Gallery where the Wedding Breakfast was to be held. The delectable Italian treats by Pasticceria Lorena were added to the show before Craig and Stevie were applauded in, napkins waving, led by Affinity Weddings on the microphone.

“A quick, mischievous, trip down memory lane awaited Stevie by one of his Groomsmen before the rest of the speeches and a delightful meal that followed. Whilst guests were tucking into their Italian treats afterwards, the photographers at Boda Weddings whisked the two Grooms away in the golf cart to explore the full extent of the grounds, circumventing the golf courses, lakes, cattle and orchards, snapping photos at various romantic spots including the Greek temple.

“As the light began to fade, the evening guests arrived in their Wedding best, so the music turned up, the drinks at the bar began to flow and the dancing followed suit. Norwood Park had played host to yet another timeless classic.”
