Dark, moody and sumptuous!

The blue skies and warmth in the sun might be beginning to break through but can you blame us for having a throw back to Autumn when it looks THIS GOOD? It is no secret that we have a soft spot for a gorgeously moody colour seem so Sophie and Adam’s styling makes our dark hearts sing. THE DETAILS

We absolutely LOVED our cake and everybody commented on how fab it looked. Sonia at Rock'n'Roll baker did the most perfect job and designed exactly what we had imagined. The food at Hazel Gap is AMAZING - we had canapes, roast chicken main with chocolate fondant and veggie dogs & fish dogs for our evening buffet. Everything was delicious!

My parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary the same day which made it extra special (we even recreated one of their wedding photos). The main highlight of the day for both of us was the live band - Kickout. We wanted our day to revolve around music and the band put together a setlist that suited us perfectly. Everyone was up dancing and having the best time.

THE VIBE

We always wanted an Autumn wedding and chose the dark colour scheme to suit the season, as well as having a music theme throughout the whole day. David Williams - Guitarist even learnt 3 of our favourite songs for our ceremony (Here Comes The Sun, Take Over The World & In My Life).
I guess you could sum it up as; dark, quirky and something a little bit different! Whilst planning the day we wanted to steer away from 'tradition' so this was the brief we gave to our suppliers and I think they smashed it!

THE ADVICE

Pick a photographer who you can really connect with and gets your style and vibe for the day.
Don't worry about what other people think or what you 'should' have at a wedding - do it your way and put your mark all over the day!
Involve your guests. We hired video cameras and had our guests film the day from their point of view. It made for great fun for them and a hilarious wedding video for us.
