Rustic & Handcrafted
Siân & Simon
We love a good flower and this wedding has them aplenty, along with boho vibes, the coolest VW camper and, quite possibly, the most joyful bride we've ever seen! Siân and Simon created a wedding day which just perfectly represented them and their lifestyle. With caring for the environment being important to them in everyday life, they made sure their wedding day was no exception with sustainability, recycling and locality being at the forefront of the planning.
Here the lovely Siân tells us more about how they created their beautifully bohemian day...
Sophie & Rob
Under the bright blue, sunny February skies at Hazel Gap Barn, Budby this rustic, beautifully chilled out real wedding caught our eye! Bridesmaids dressed in dusky pink tulle with Memory Lane rose flowers in their hair to match, fairy lights, classically beautiful blooms and candles with personal family touches to remember our loved ones. A day clearly full of emotion, love and laughter saw Sophie & Rob (after nearly 9 years of being together!), finally become Mr & Mrs Thorpe.
Sophie gives us all the details of how they created such a special day....

Offering a ‘home from home’ vibe, glorious gardens and meadows, the prettiest rooms and unrivalled service, it really is having a moment in the wedding industry. Dan & Gemma at Overgrown Acres
Colourful fun wedding with a festival vibe. Bright colours mixed with fun styling, music was a big part of this shoot, with nods to it in the record table names, VIP lanyard name tags and guitar props. Colour was added where possible, without losing the essence of a beautiful wedding; petals sewn into the bride's veil & impressive back drop to the top table. The food was festival inspired food trailer, serving wood fired pizza. Such a fun wedding in a gorgeous understated tipi venue!
Paul and Danielle
Being happily married for 20 years is cause for celebration and celebrate, Paul & Danielle certainly did. Doddington Hall was the setting for this amazing vow renewal. “I always loved the grand impact as you drive up plus the gardens are just so stunning and the staff always friendly and professional. It was the perfect place for our celebration” says Danielle.
Daniel & Sarah
Daniel & Sarah opted for a really relaxed yet fun wedding day. They were spoilt with sunshine in the heart of the countryside in Ambergate, Belper, with the exclusive-use secret gardens promising the perfect backdrops for their photographs. Their styling was rustic with an abundance of foliage and copper to create an industrial-meets-romance vibe.
This couple's big day was all about celebrating and making the day full of fun, which is why they had a crêpe cart, karaoke and even a magician! What are you waiting for..? Dive straight into the gallery guys!
Leah & Sam
"Our wedding day was simply perfect. I know that must sound like a cliché, but we cannot think of any other way to describe it that does the day justice!
When we started planning our day, we thought hard about the type of wedding we wanted and how we wanted our guests to feel. The most important thing for us was that our guests enjoyed themselves! We wanted it to feel like a family gathering and a real celebration, and to keep things relaxed and informal.
We danced the night away with our family and friends, in fact I don’t think I stopped dancing all night! We ended our evening with just a few family members and close friends, sat outside under the stars sipping fizz and eating wedding cake, wrapped up in blankets, and it was simply perfect.
We planned our wedding in just under 10 weeks, due to receiving some sad news about my (Bride) mum’s health. When we got engaged on 17th April 2019, our plan was to get married in September 2020, but unfortunately when we knew my mum wouldn’t make it to then there was no question but to bring the wedding forward. Unfortunately however, my mum didn’t make the wedding, and sadly passed away 3 weeks before. Whilst it was extremely sad, and not having her by my side on the day was one of the hardest things I’ve done, I took comfort in the fact that she’d been to every venue appointment, met with my caterers, florists and helped my pick out my dress.
As you can imagine this did have some bearing on the wedding day, but we were keen to ensure that the day remained a celebration; a celebration of our love for each other, a celebration for the love we had for all our friends and family and to celebrate the amazing woman who was the Mother of the Bride.
From the moment we woke up on the day to the moment we retired to our honeymoon suite we didn’t stop smiling, our day was filled with many emotions, but the overwhelming one was happiness. Looking at the photos and our video, our day was filled with love, laughter and silly dancing! And that was perfect for us."
Jade & Ben
Hazel Gap Barn really was the perfect setting for Jade & Ben's Asian-inspired celebration, and we love how the couple incorporated subtle yet stylish bohemian vibes.
Jade's father passed away six years ago, so they chose to play a beautiful video to him via a projector screen so that he could still be a part of the special day. Their canapés was so incredible they skipped the started and tucked straight into the main meal, a hog roast. For their wedding cake, the bottom tier has a song written on it that Ben, the groom, had written for Jade. All the romance!
For purse-friendly yet scrumptious treats for the guests, Jade and Ben put out sweet and biscuit jars which everyone enjoyed. This delightful duo also provided their guests with blankets and umbrellas so they could make the most of the outdoor space at Hazel Gap Barn.
Let's take a look at their rather beautiful big day...
Louise & James
Louise & James's wedding was relaxed and picturesque, set in Snowdonia National Park. Louise is a bridal make-up artist and had seen hundreds of venues in the North West, and since having their little boy they had always gone to North Wales for family getaways. This lovely couple knew instantly that Hafod Farm was the perfect place to get wed, with accommodation for 20 over a three-day period. Their big day has more of a 'wedding weekend' vibe with plenty of personal touches.
Their little boy walked the bride down the aisle, while the family pug Minnie was also there to celebrate! Louise & James spoilt their guests with canapés for starters, fillet of beef for the main and scrumptious chocolate brownies for dessert, along with pizza in the evening around cosy fire pits. With an epic live band, everyone partied the night away...
