Danielle and Paul’s vibrant & fun filled vow renewal at Doddington Hall
Being happily married for 20 years is cause for celebration and celebrate, Paul & Danielle certainly did. Doddington Hall was the setting for this amazing vow renewal. “I always loved the grand impact as you drive up plus the gardens are just so stunning and the staff always friendly and professional. It was the perfect place for our celebration” says Danielle.
“We renewed our vows in the long gallery, it was a relaxed and intimate ceremony with our closest family and friends, our eldest son Dominic was best man to Paul and our youngest Fabien gave me away. We headed over to the Coach house for food and celebrations, starting with drinks and a selection of canapes, followed with a BBQ consisting of Doddington Red herd beef burgers, handmade Doddington estate pheasant & rare breed Berkshire pork sausage, chicken skewers, pork loin in bbq drizzle along with sides of new potatoes, jumbo moroccan couscous, garden salads and slaw plus so much more, all sourced from the estate or locally. Evening was finished with a Charcuterie table, we really are foodies!”
With their two sons playing major parts in the day, this flower and fun filled day was full of laughter and love. “Being a florist myself, I wanted the blooms to take centre stage. So for me, and my love of flowers I had to have a great mix of different types and all the colours you could think of. I roped in help from Rachel at Catkin Flowers who I had complete faith in. She created a breathtaking oversized asymmetrical bouquet of seasonal British flowers with hand dyed silk ribbons from Little Acorn Silks. Trailing asparagus fern and larkspur hung from the ceiling in the coach house struts and beautiful bright hens decorated the tables.
Not only were the flowers bang on trend, the styling was just total perfection too.
“Save The Date event stylist know me well and know my style as I’ve worked with them many a time on other couple’s weddings, we hired rustic trestle tables and chairs from All Things Borrowed and the girls dressed these with lace runners, glass beaded charger plates, coloured glasses and personalised table numbers which were significant dates in our lives.”
“Sophie from The Confetti Cakery created a masterpiece which sat next to the top table on an beer barrel with an old door as it’s back drop with a cheeky “cakey” sign which was an inside joke with the groom, with lamps saying “light of my life” as the cake topper a nod to my husband’s profession.”
And we can’t continue without mentioning Danielle’s incredible look on the day. “I wore a full length strapless, plain but peplum style ivory gown finished with a full length cape with appliqué. I then loaded fresh flowers into my hair, obviously!”
When the guests weren’t doing the conga or eating the amazing food, they were treated to entertainment by Tom the magician who blew all the guests away, the singing waiters, and finally all wrapped up with a soul and funk band with saxophonist.
What a treat this beautiful celebratory day was, we were totally blown away by the styling, the colour but most of all the happiness which shines from everyone’s faces. Just gorgeous.
