A pretty pastel pink wedding brimming with beautiful blooms
Natalie & Jon tied the knot at Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire. They opted for a pretty pastel pink and cream colour scheme with lots of floral details and decorations, a perfect fit for the walled garden at their wedding venue.
"We chose Doddington Hall because it has everything you need on site, from the ceremony in the Long gallery in the hall, the reception in their Coach House with beautiful walled garden and accommodation for all our guests. We didn’t have a theme or style, just that we wanted to keep it simple yet pretty & colourful. We kept the decorations to mainly floral, sticking with pinks and creams to tie in with my dress and the bridesmaids dresses. We decorated the outside walled garden area with bunting and paper lanterns hanging from the tress which lit up in the evening."
I had already brought a dress in March when we first decided to get married but I changed my mind in June so I travelled to Lulu Ann Bridal, Birmingham who is a premier stockist of Ronald Joyce so I was able to choose a dress I liked so last minute. I had a lot of alterations done on the dress, changing the neck line and removing lots of beading. I loved the lace on the dress and matched it with a plain long veil. I had a lovely make up artist called Jenni and my hair along with my bridesmaid was done by Natalie Bartram at Bridal Hair Specialists. Jon wore a blue Next suit with a waistcoat with tan shoes. Best man Ross & Ushers Russell & Martyn wore suits from Next to match Jon.
Our bridesmaids Emily, Lucy, Tor & Lizzie wore TFNC dresses from ASOS. We ordered several options & maternity dresses for my sister who was 7 months pregnant but was able to have them all matching in the end. My bridesmaids and I all had matching bouquets and had a smaller version for our flower girl Lily. Our florist Abigail at Petal & Stalk was so much help when it came to choosing our centrepieces, I sent a few photos for ideas and Abigail designed some beautiful arrangements for the day. We added extra flowers right up to the last day and Abigail was so enthusiastic about every idea I had.
The girls are so much fun & we laughed the entire time
We first met Emily & Katy for our engagement shoot, where they instantly made us feel comfortable and at ease with having our photo taken. The girls are so much fun & we laughed the entire time. The girls were so patient & polite with arranging all of our guests on the day and took the time to get the most perfect photos after our ceremony.
All of our guests commented on how great Emily & Katy were on the day of our wedding. They even sent us a sneak peak gallery with 50 photos from the wedding just the next day to view with our friends & family, which was amazing to be able to look through so soon after the wedding!
Our wedding coordinators at Doddington Hall, Justine Shakespeare & Andrew Lowley were so helpful and encouraging with every idea we had. The ease of having everything on site made our day very relaxed and enjoyable. Their beautiful gardens made for very good photos too. The two moments that stood out would be walking down the aisle with my sister Emily & seeing Jon for the first time. Also, my husband Jon arranged for a surprise when he read his speech. He finished by saying how much I would of liked our two dogs Honey & Lola to have been at the wedding, they then ran into the room- I had no idea they were coming!
It goes so quickly....
For our wedding entertainment and music, we started by having a pianist called Hillary Waterfall to play for our ceremony and wedding breakfast, where we got to choose our favourite music to walk down the aisle & leave to. We then had the lovely Joel Berger to sing throughout the afternoon & evening who even sang our first dance song which was amazing. Doddington’s house DJ then took over for the rest of the evening. It goes so quickly, so take a moment out of your day to spend a few moments alone with your new husband before the night ends!
