TELL US ABOUT YOUR VENUE...

We got married at the beautiful Donington Park Farmhouse. As soon as we visited the venue we knew it was the one. The barn is just breath taking and I could so picture us getting married there. The venue is full of character and so unique.

DESCRIBE THE STYLE OF YOUR WEDDING...

“The venue was very unique and rustic so we knew we wanted the theme to match. We hired the amazing Suzee and Emily at Lily Rose Wedding and Events to help us with the decor. They managed to bring all our ideas to life! I love to bake so we included golden syrup tins as part of the table decorations. For our seating plan we found funny photos of all our guests and printed them off and hung them on a copper frame! This was one of my favourite pieces of decoration and the guests loved it! We used the photos from our engagement shoot to create an ‘Order of the Day’ booklet. It was a great way to incorporate these pictures in the wedding!”

WHAT DID YOU ALL WEAR?

“My dress was the Juliet dress by Riki Dalal. This was the first dress I saw when I visited Lori G and as soon as I tried it on I knew this was the one! It was everything I imagined I wanted my dress to be, but like nothing else I’d seen before! My bridesmaids all wore dusky pink multi way dresses. I wanted the girls all in the same dress and this was a perfect way of finding one that suited everyone! Ben wore a navy suit, with a grey waistcoat that matched the groomsmens grey suits. He wanted to match them, but also stand out as the groom. They all wore pastel yellow ties.”

WHAT DID EVERYBODY EAT & DRINK?

“We picked the BBQ course for our wedding breakfast and a hog roast in the evening. All our guests got a pimms after the ceremony.”

HOW DID YOU ENTERTAIN YOUR GUESTS?

“We hired Lauren to play the violin as I walked down the aisle and whilst we signed the register. It was such a lovely touch! She also played after the ceremony whilst we chatted to our guests. In the evening we had the Vintage Booth Photobooth, we both really wanted a photobooth but wanted something that would suit the venue and this was perfect!”

ANY WORDS OF ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?

“Don’t worry about the little things and just enjoy the day! Everyone told me how quick it would go, but I don’t think I believed them until the day. It went by in a flash but I loved every second. Make time to take it in with your new husband/wife! You hardly see them on the day!”
