Lily & Ben’s Aswarby Wedding
Part of our Cream of the Crop, Aswarby Rectory is a wedding venue like no other. Offering a ‘home from home’ vibe, glorious gardens and meadows, the prettiest rooms and unrivalled service, it really is having a moment in the wedding industry. Lily & Ben’s beautiful big day is seriously making our hearts flutter and we just can’t wait to share it with you…
Lily & I married on what felt like one the warmest days of the year at Aswarby Rectory in Sleaford. Despite the majority of us being a sweaty mess by the end… we couldn’t of asked for a more perfect day. Aswarby Rectory was the ideal setting, we wanted a more intimate wedding with family and friends. We felt as if we were at home the whole day, the whole atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly.
The day consisted of a late ceremony at 3pm then cocktails, lawn games and beer pong with everyone taking full advantage of the weather in the garden. We wanted the whole day to be as fun & relaxed as possible – no major thrills!
Built in 1820, Aswarby Rectory is a beautiful, exclusive use country house wedding venue situated in stunning open countryside and surrounded by 9 acres of private gardens and paddock land. To be honest it was Donna & Richard (owners) who sealed the deal, they came across so well at our first meeting we went with our gut and booked it straight away. Our wedding was seamless and we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day.
We styled our day with lots of pastel colours, opted for no linen on the tables (Aswarby have these amazing vintage looking trestle tables) with a nod to an Italian theme throughout the day, the food and some of the drinks etc. We had originally planned to get married in Italy but with a number of family members dropping out we decided to make the switch to the UK. The food played a huge part of the day and we enjoyed canapés, mouth-watering sharing platters and an array of delicious desserts.
Our advice to future couples? I can’t stress how quickly it all goes on the day, take time to just enjoy it!
