Without further ado, let us hand you over to Kym so you can find out everything you need to know about their wedding at The Carriage Hall.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING VENUE!
“The Carriage Hall suited us perfectly. We liked the open space and the big windows as we felt it made the ceremony feel special. The staff turned the room around beautifully for our wedding breakfast. Because we were so lucky with the weather, our guests could enjoy the grounds in between.”
DESCRIBE THE STYLE OF YOUR WEDDING...
“We kept the colour scheme pretty neutral, but with hints of mauve, dusty pinks and gold. We did design a personalised table plan with embarrassing photos of our guests and our cake was homemade by the groom’s mum (it featured icing representations of our two cats: Greg and George).”
“I wore a vintage style Eliza Jane Howell dress, that I bought in a sample sale and then had altered significantly by the brilliant ladies at Soar Valley Brides in Sileby. The four bridesmaids wore a Victoria Lou multiway dresses in a range of dusky pastel colours (one bridesmaid was on crutches and we had them decorated with flowers as she couldn’t hold her bouquet). The groom wore a grey wool suit by Marc Darcy and his groomsmen wore their own suits. Then men had matching ties and pocket squares that we had made up in a Liberty print fabric.”
WHAT DID EVERYBODY EAT & DRINK?
“The Carriage Hall served delicious canapés including lamb koftas, mini fishcakes and chorizo tartlets as a starter and then we had a traditional main course of either beef, chicken or a mushroom wellington with seasonal vegetables, followed by either a lemon posset or a chocolate and peanut torte dessert. In the evening we served pizzas, supplied by The Pizza Pod, Loughborough.”
HOW DID YOU ENTERTAIN YOUR GUESTS?
“We invited some furry friends – two alpacas, who guests enjoyed fussing and feeding between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and we had the fabulous Jukebox Jets playing vintage rock and roll in the evening.”
DO YOU HAVE ANY WORDS OF ADVICE FOR FUTURE COUPLES?
“Try not to let the planning overwhelm you and think about what little jobs you can give to family members as it really does make the day special when everyone’s had a part in creating it.”
