Welcome to the wedding of Joy & Eliot at Holme Pierrepont Hall.
With a heavenly white, gold and navy colour scheme, Joy & Eliot's wedding day was the epitome of style.
THE COLOUR SCHEME WAS ULTRA-ELEGANT
Newlyweds, Joy & Eliot, tied the knot on the 27th August 2016. They married at the West Bridgford Baptist Church and their reception was held at the beautiful tudor manor house Holme Pierrepont Hall. The colour scheme was an elegant mix of gold, white and navy – sounds pretty stunning, doesn’t it? Joy, the beautiful bride, wore an incredible dress from Justin Alexander purchased at Mia Sposa in Nottingham. Eliot wore a very stylish green suit teamed with a mustard tie. They also both had African style evening outfits which looked incredible, whichwere to acknowledge Joy’s cultural roots. The outfits were homemade by the bride, Joy, and the mother of the groom! Despite the rain, Joy & Eliot didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits, they still had the best day! Joy is a full time Musician, Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger and Youtuber (have a nosey here) and Eliot is an systems engineer working for London Transport.
THE WEDDING CEREMONY WAS TRULY SPECIAL
Eliot’s mum is a minister, so she performed the married ceremony at the church! Not many people get to say that one of their parents performed the marriage ceremony, so it was truly special!
Joy & Eliot wanted their wedding day to feel romantic with a modern vibe. They opted for a luxurious navy, white and gold wedding colour scheme with subtle hints of dark earthy green. The result was just gorgeous! Holme Pierrepont Hall is surrounded by beautiful grounds and gardens, which helped add a natural element to their day. Eliot wore a dark green suit for the daytime, with green Zimbabwean style outfits to change into for the evening reception. Joy’s parents had their own similar outfit changes when they got married, so it was a tradition that the happy couple wanted to follow for their own wedding day. Joy says, “It was amazing being able to combine cultures and wear something custom made and so unique to us!”
While the couples really enjoyed their reception, they found that the church ceremony was the highlight of their wedding day. “Walking into the church and seeing everyone we love, all from different moments in our lives in one place was truly amazing. There are very few moments in life where this ever happens, and it was very special. Services can sometimes feel very serious, so it was so nice to add a few surprises for our guests, like the video and order of service. The fact that everyone was smiling and laughing throughout the day was a big bonus for us – laughing is our favourite thing to do!”
