Jessie & Chris

Jess and Chris shared their traditional styled wedding day with all their loved ones. With a magnificent venue and some very talented wedding suppliers, their day was one that would be remembered forever.

Over to Jess to tell you more…

“We got married at Swancar Farm in Trowell, Nottinghamshire. It was the only venue that we went to see. I’d looked at it online before and I think I already knew that it was the venue for us. We went to an open day a month or so after we got engaged and it completely blew me away. The venue itself is stunning but the staff just topped it off. They had everything so well organized for a really busy open day and we knew that we would be in good hands. We booked it that day without any hesitation.

I think our wedding style was quite classic. We weren’t really into having a themed wedding; just our preference really. We just wanted it to be whatever we wanted.  Even though most of the day was very traditional, we had a beer pong table for the evening, which went down really well with all of our guests.

My dress was by Enzoani Blue called Dabra. It was the first one I tried on and I cried, I tried on quite a few others but in the end tried the Enzoani again and knew it was the one. It was a fitted bodice with lace detail and the bottom was lots and lots of beautifully detailed tulle. I never thought I would go for anything as big as I did but I went in with an open mind and tried every style on.

The wedding stationery was provided mainly by Swancar Farm; they decorated the tables beautifully with things such as candelabras. The florist we used was Michele Gledhill and she decorated the candelabras with gypsophila; a few of our guests couldn’t believe they were real. The rest of the flowers were just stunning too.

We booked our photographer, Ed Godden after booking our venue. We had seen his work on his website and just loved his style; natural and fun. Neither of us are big fans of the camera and Ed was absolutely amazing with us. He put us right at ease and we barely knew he was there most of the day! A genuinely lovely guy who we couldn’t recommend more.

Our cake was made by Adele of April Delights. It looked and tasted amazing. Adele is very talented and our guests loved the cake too. We also came back from honeymoon almost 2 weeks after the wedding and still had some cake left. We cut into it wondering how it would have kept and it was still just as beautiful….none of it went to waste!

My only words of advice for any future bride would be to do what you and your future husband want. You will come across a lot of opinions from other people but it is your day and your opinions are the only ones that matter! Enjoy every minute. It goes very fast.
