Emily & Chris
Emily and Chris went for an intimate celebration. They wanted to make everything as personal as possible calling upon family members to lend a hand in bringing their big day together.
Over to Emily to tell you more…
“Our venue was East Bridgford Hill. Our wedding venue is a family home which made it feel more intimate and was perfect for a winter wedding. We loved the randomness of the house and that we could customise the venue to fit with our vision for the day.
We never set out with a specific style or theme in mind for our wedding. We wanted our wedding to incorporate elements of our everyday lives that we love and the day evolved from there.
I wanted to go for a classic dress that would age well over time. I booked 4 different designer appointments and took along my Mum, Sister and Bridesmaids for their invaluable advice! I’ve always loved Jenny Packham dresses and ‘the one’ was the second one I tried on in the shop. I loved the lace back and how the silk flowed and thought it would fit perfectly with our venue.
We tried to make everything as personal as possible. Chris’s brother is a graphic designer so he designed all our stationery and did an amazing job.
We are both massive lovers of food and drink, so we organised for our local brewery Blue Monkey to deliver 3 kegs of Chris’s favourite beer for the evening.
We then set-up an outside winter wonderland for our guests where they could sit out and enjoy a drink. Inside, the ladies drank cocktails named after our surnames in the venues ‘hat bar’.
Enjoy the planning and do not stress! As long as you get married and there is food and drink for your guests, everyone will have a good time!”
