Edwina & Liam
Today’s wedding is a woodland wonder! Every tiny detail from the wild flower bouquets to the personalised wooden signs, this beautifully earthy, autumnal wedding is brimming with vintage chic and rustic charm.
Over to Edwina to tell you a little bit more…
“As a perfectionist, (some may say control freak) teacher and mum to an 18 month old with a very busy lifestyle one thing we knew from day 1 was that we had to trust the people (suppliers) we were working with 100%, and they were all flawless!
Recommended through a friend I will certainly be passing Anna from Moo’s Makeup details onto everyone that wants to listen or know about her. For someone who usually doesn’t wear any make up at all, Anna made me feel so comfortable and even managed to make me look half decent. She created a flawless and natural look & I loved it! I was over the moon with what Anna did for both me and my bridesmaids, (they will kill me for saying this but, they are fussy when it comes to their make-up and even they were really impressed & loved the looks Anna shaped).
What makes it even better is that Anna is a lovely warm person and that she uses a lot of MAC products.
My shoes from Rachel Simpson were beautifully subtle & uber comfortable – that’s all I can say……
I fell in love instantly with my ‘Clemise’ headdress from the very talented Corrine. It suited the style of our day and my dress effortlessly, a little different perhaps but I was so pleased I went for it.
Kirsty Woods. A great friend and my hairdresser – what a perfectionist………I knew Kirsty would work her magic. We didn’t have a trial run however, all trusted that whatever Kirsty created for us all would be spot on & that we would adore our hair.
Sarah from Mrs Umbels was amazing, I was more than happy after meeting Sarah for the very first time that I could give her “carte blanche” and she did not fail to impress us. Every single creation was out of this world, and guests from our wedding are still commenting now how crazily beautiful all the flowers were.
I am so happy I stumbled across Nadine from Nerissa Eve Weddings, she is an amazing lady who literally turns your concepts into reality. I had so many ideas and Nadine was so happy to work with me. I sent through endless pictures and emails from which she created the most amazing “personal” touches for our wedding. I have to mention in particular our wedding favour scratch card holders (amazing), our personalised floor board wedding signs and the wooden cake stands & glass domes which I was in absolute love with. After the wedding I really missed being in contact with Nadine……..…..that says it all.
We knew as soon as we were engaged The William Cecil venue was where we wanted to have our wedding. An original hotel very close to our hearts & home in Stamford, Lincs and one we just love, love, love. Juliet (the wedding co-ordinator) was just fab and accommodated our every wish. One of the most appealing things was we decided to hire the marquee attached to the hotel for the wedding breakfast as a blank canvas and were able to decorate it making it our own for the day.
All the cakes were baked and decorated by my new fabulous mother – in – law Corrine. I am sure she would take orders…….we decided on 8 different cakes which we displayed on “logs with glass domes” not only did they look divine, they went down a right treat.
Tim from Lincolnshire poacher was great. I would say he listened to exactly what we wanted however, again I left it down to him to decide what to send and we were not disappointed. The cheeses (accompanied by decanters of port) for the evening food were so yummy!!
I came across Dave a Speed Artist and his work whilst reading through an online wedding blog. He instantly caught my eye and I knew I had to have Dave perform at our wedding (Liam also loved the look of his work) Based in Leeds but originally from Wales Dave performed & entertained us all with his “Speed Art” during our wedding breakfast.
He captured both ours and all our guests’ attention with his colossal performances. We had guests trying to buy the giant canvas pics off us after the wedding they loved it that much. It also helped both Dave and his camera man were two quality guys!!!!
The Band, The Hound Dogs – Immense – we love these guys, their energy & talent is breath-taking. They instantly fill the dance floor until the early hours, the atmosphere was great.
I knew I wanted an unassuming but beautiful and lightweight lace wedding dress that I could move in, eat in and dance in until the early hours… Anna, from This Modern Love Bridal was absolutely brilliant from the very first email I sent her. I loved the fact she only has a couple of bridal gowns designs and then works with you to adapt it to fit your preferences. Nothing was too much trouble for Anna, the dress was perfect for me and it was an absolute bargain!!!!!
I know photo booths are becoming quite a common thing at weddings nevertheless, the fun we had creating happy memories that are now displayed in our house shows the booth was worth every penny. What we loved about Lee Garland’s “Vintage booth” is that is very “good-looking” and the fact the prints are unlimited meant guests could take their shots home as well as us getting an electronic copy of them all.
Bayleaf Buttons. What a great find! One thing we knew we wanted was a very personal and attractive table plan. I contacted Megan after looking on Etsy and within hours beautiful, unique and 130 personalised badges were designed & ordered. Although Megan is based in Canada she was so reasonably priced and trustworthy I was so pleased I found her, I loved our table plan thanks to Megan (and my mum)
I knew from the moment I saw Ed Godden’s photography work he was the one, Liam luckily for his sake also agreed. I know everybody says it, but it is true: don’t scrimp on the photos- they are worth every single penny! We cannot rate Ed enough. Not only was he a joy to have around on the wedding day, so relaxed and un – intrusive Ed still managed to captured the truth of our day, as it unfolded and we just love the images. What an awesome guy.
One very little piece of advice – Someone told me just before my wedding that all that matters is you are marrying your best friend and that absolutely everything else is a bonus! It is so very true.”
