Charlie & Jane
We love The Walled Garden and we've been lucky enough to feature some swoon-worthy weddings at this beautiful setting on the blog. Charlie & Jane chose this beautiful Victorian garden for their wedding day, giving their celebration a relaxed feel, filled with family sentiment and traditional elements. It had a subtle bohemian vibe that was super stylish, so get pinning! We'll hand you over to Nathan Walker Photography so you can find out more...
Iain & Kelly
We're taking a trip back to The Riding School at Calke Abbey with Iain & Kelly's lovely, laidback wedding day! These guys love travelling the world and wanted to incorporate this into their wedding theme, including a subtle touch of Tartan for a nod towards Iain's Scottish routes. Plus - they had their dog there during the day and you know how much we love dogs at weddings and she certainly stole the show...
Tom and Charlotte
Tom & Charlotte chose The West Mill as the setting for their celebration, with a clean contemporary feel that we can't get enough of. These guys wanted their guests to have the best time, making sure it was a wedding to remember. With the alchemist dishing up smoky cocktails and a DJ live set in the evening, it really was an EPIC party with their nearest and dearest.
"Instagram and Pinterest provided plenty of inspiration for the look of the day, we wanted it to be elegant and timeless but still modern, with lots of greenery and flowers against the industrial back ground of the venue."
Let's hand you over to the bride, Charlotte, so you can find out even more about their big day...
Matthew & Abbie
Matthew & Abbie got engaged in a mountain town in Mallorca, so wanted to give their wedding day at The Pumping House subtle Spanish vibes. Relaxed and stylish, they had a big fiesta in the evening, a flamenco guitarist during the ceremony, Sangria and San Miguel as welcome drinks and mouthwateringly-delicious taps for the wedding breakfast. This wedding was a 'no rules' fun kind of day and we can't get enough of it...
Ella & Callum
Ella & Callum's wedding at The Old Vicarage Boutique is the epitome of elegance! With classic all white décor and an abundance of dark green foliage, the vibe was relaxed, and intimate with a dash of luxury. The couple said their vows and celebrated surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their venue was absolutely dreamy too, so we are super excited to share their special day with you...
Megan and Kurt
The Riding School at Calke Abbey (one of all ALL time favourite venues) was the most magical setting for Megan & Kurt's wedding day. Part of the Honeysuckle & Castle collection, this no-corkage wedding venue boasts exposed brickwork, high ceilings and an incredible atmosphere.
Megan & Kurt decorated the space with twinkling fairylights, gorgeous ghost chairs, plenty of florals and an EPIC moon gate altar. Let's not forget the doughnut wall, glitter bar, personalised leather jackets and the groom's blue glitter beard.
Yep, this wedding is rather cool so dive straight into the gallery...
Leah & Sam
"Our wedding day was simply perfect. I know that must sound like a cliché, but we cannot think of any other way to describe it that does the day justice!
When we started planning our day, we thought hard about the type of wedding we wanted and how we wanted our guests to feel. The most important thing for us was that our guests enjoyed themselves! We wanted it to feel like a family gathering and a real celebration, and to keep things relaxed and informal.
We danced the night away with our family and friends, in fact I don’t think I stopped dancing all night! We ended our evening with just a few family members and close friends, sat outside under the stars sipping fizz and eating wedding cake, wrapped up in blankets, and it was simply perfect.
We planned our wedding in just under 10 weeks, due to receiving some sad news about my (Bride) mum’s health. When we got engaged on 17th April 2019, our plan was to get married in September 2020, but unfortunately when we knew my mum wouldn’t make it to then there was no question but to bring the wedding forward. Unfortunately however, my mum didn’t make the wedding, and sadly passed away 3 weeks before. Whilst it was extremely sad, and not having her by my side on the day was one of the hardest things I’ve done, I took comfort in the fact that she’d been to every venue appointment, met with my caterers, florists and helped my pick out my dress.
As you can imagine this did have some bearing on the wedding day, but we were keen to ensure that the day remained a celebration; a celebration of our love for each other, a celebration for the love we had for all our friends and family and to celebrate the amazing woman who was the Mother of the Bride.
From the moment we woke up on the day to the moment we retired to our honeymoon suite we didn’t stop smiling, our day was filled with many emotions, but the overwhelming one was happiness. Looking at the photos and our video, our day was filled with love, laughter and silly dancing! And that was perfect for us."
Jade & Ben
Hazel Gap Barn really was the perfect setting for Jade & Ben's Asian-inspired celebration, and we love how the couple incorporated subtle yet stylish bohemian vibes.
Jade's father passed away six years ago, so they chose to play a beautiful video to him via a projector screen so that he could still be a part of the special day. Their canapés was so incredible they skipped the started and tucked straight into the main meal, a hog roast. For their wedding cake, the bottom tier has a song written on it that Ben, the groom, had written for Jade. All the romance!
For purse-friendly yet scrumptious treats for the guests, Jade and Ben put out sweet and biscuit jars which everyone enjoyed. This delightful duo also provided their guests with blankets and umbrellas so they could make the most of the outdoor space at Hazel Gap Barn.
Let's take a look at their rather beautiful big day...
Robin and Emma
Robin and Emma had a super relaxed and fun wedding day in spring, with plenty of sunshine and a sprinkling of glitz and glamour. Sounds rather wonderful, doesn't it? The glorious weather provided the perfect backdrop to their beautiful venue, so the couple could make the most of their exclusive-use courtyard throughout their celebration.
The newlyweds chose their own caterers and made use of Dodmoor's unlimited drinks package, which included a cheeky gin bar! Arcade games provided much of the fun in the reception, including air hockey, table football and a skittles alley, all played to the amazing sounds of a string quartet.
The evening was kicked started with sparklers at sunset and continued with a full dance-floor with some impressing moves late into the night! Take a peek at their fabulously fun wedding day...
Jaz & Andy
Rain couldn't dampen the joy and emotion of Jaz & Andy's beautiful wedding day at Aston Marina's stunning waterside wedding venue, The Boat House. Following a heartfelt ceremony that was originally supposed to be outdoors but was hijacked by Storm Callum, the wedding party went on to enjoy a day filled with good food, fun, love and laughter. The theme was simple but stunningly effective - mason jars decorated with lace and filled with pink roses and gypsophila sat on apple tree sections for the centre of the table, with light vanilla candles complimented the colour scheme of blush pink and mid/navy blue. Guests enjoyed a traditional three course wedding breakfast before dancing the night away to a DJ.
It was a day that shone despite the weather - and fabulous photography from Lee Glasgow that captured the mood perfectly. Aston Marina’s gorgeous waterside wedding venue, The Boat House, which features minimalist modern design with far-reaching rural views across the rolling Staffordshire countryside.
