Welcome to the wedding of Charlotte & Paul at Doddington Hall

Something A Little Magical

Well, just look at that AMAZING dress! Whilst Charlotte’s bespoke Jesus Peiro gown was the first thing to catch our eye at this wedding day, it is by no means the only gorgeous detail! Every inch of the wedding had personalised details, from that bespoke dress to signature cocktails, and personalised hand sanitiser (covid wedding essentials).

Captured beautifully by the super talented Jo Greenfield Photo & Film, this wedding is a modern take on a big white wedding with a large dollop of vogue-esque style thrown in for good measure. Charlotte said the wedding day was

“Quintessential British wedding with a gorgeous mix of bohemian and traditional elements.”

With no further ado, we will show you more…

Eye Candy

Venue

The venue was Doddington Hall, a location close to the couple heart. The bride worked there as a teenager and dreamed of it getting married there. It was also one of the first dates location! The venue has an oldy worldy aspect for the ceremony but a modern twist in the coach house for the reception. The Coach House is also home to a secret garden, where live music and confetti shot made it the most perfect drinks reception.

Vibe

The decor and colour scheme followed a bohemian and wild whimsical wedding vibes, with sage and olive green elements throughout the day. All stationary, bespoke favours, signage, hand sanitiser etc all followed the same gorgeous green and textured branding which was all DIY by the bride. From signature bride and groom cocktails, a quirky jazz singer, floral chandeliers there was bespoke touches everywhere you looked. Sentimental items throughout, cornflowers in bouquet because the bride's mum also had this, homemade sloe gin in mini bottles for favours, memory table of loved ones.

The Outfits

The bride wore a bespoke Jesus Peiro wedding dress (top and skirt actually!), a chic, modern yet traditional look. Inspiration was taken from Elizabeth James (the Mother from the Parent Trap - favourite film of the couple). Organza sleeves, with large cuffs and detail button from the top to the bottom of the 6ft train. P & C hand stitched into the cuff.

The bridesmaids wore sage green multiway bridesmaids dresses from Lipsy/Next, accompanied with gorgeous celestial hair slides and a matching bracelet. With gold accessories and shoes. Having multiway dress to fit different shapes is key! Everyone needs to feel amazing no matter what shape or size.

The groomsmen wore Moss Bros blue checked suits with waistcoats, and accompanying navy accessories. All groomsmen wore tan shoes (grooms shoes were from Loakes).

Advice

Enjoy the day, it goes so fast. Try and take every second in, it's a hard day and there are many jobs to do. On the day I didn't enjoy the amount of photographs (our photographer made it fun and quick but still you want to be getting drunk with your family and friends), however now I am gutted I missed some people! You won't ever be able to look that way, or dress that way again so make sure you get the photos you want with the people you love.

Also have a plan B, and a plan C right through to Z. We were lucky our day had no hitches, but just be organised, I lived on Google Sheets for the months before the wedding and ensured everything was packed and ready to go a good week in advance!
