My husband and I have recently had our wedding cake designed and made by Bakes by Gingernut for our wedding on Friday 2nd September 2022. The whole experience was very professional, imaginative and filled with warmth and love. Clare provided us with 3 cake designs to choose from after a Zoom meeting several months ago which took into account our wedding theme and vision. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very happy that Clare had everything under control from the start. She arrived on the morning of our wedding and set about assembling and putting the finishing touches to our cake quietly and efficiently. Our cake was simply fabulous! It was a piece of art! We had so many compliments on both the design and the flavours and we both agreed it was the best cake we’d ever tasted! Clare made a delicious three tier cake (each tier a different flavour) for us, as well as some vegan cupcakes. All of the cakes were beautifully moist with just the right ratio of cake to icing in every slice, as each tier had multiple layers of sponge and icing, which meant that every piece of cake had both sponge and icing. The decoration was absolutely beautiful and Clare made the sugar flowers exactly as we had discussed - they matched the bouquet just as we had hoped. Clare had drafted three options to decorate the cake, which was helpful as we had a general idea of what we wanted (number of tiers, colours, flowers somewhere) but were open to suggestions of the exact decoration, so having three options to choose from was perfect for us. I absolutely recommend Clare to anyone who is looking for a truly delicious and beautiful wedding cake!
