We hope that our loyal Save The Date readers know by now that, for us to recommend a supplier, means they have to be absolutely top-notch. But why take our words for it when you can hear first-hand experience from previous customers themselves. So, what is the word on the street about this Bakewell-based bridal boutique?

“I tried on 90 dresses before I headed to Alexandra Anne. I think before, other bridal stores were trying to fit dresses to what ideas I had in my head but not really looking at my body shape or how they actually looked on me. Jess, the owner, understands women’s bodies and is able to show you how the dress will look on the wedding day. She is calm and she gives you the space to try the dress on and see how you really feel in it.” Psst, we’ve also heard that if you want to push the boat out, a VIP appointment is also available which will bag you cocktails-and-cakes to accompany the experience… it is a yes from us!
Jo says…
“I found the wedding dress shopping experience a bit deflating until I stepped into Alexandra Anne and that’s when our dream wedding started to take shape”. With wheelchair accessibility and a variety of sample sizes, welcoming a diverse crowd and ensuring that everyone can feel completely comfortable and able to enjoy trying on the most gorgeous gowns is clearly really important to the Alexandra Anne girls and we LOVE to see it.
Speaking of owner Jess, a recurring theme reading through the reviews was the personal, nothing-is-too-much-trouble service provided at this place; “Well back in 2019 I had brought a dress off the hanger from a different shop which, at the time, I LOVED. Then Covid happened… 2021 came and I tried the first dress back on again and I hated it. It just wasn’t me anymore and didn’t fit as well. My wonderful mum knew how upset I was about the dress not being right, so she called Jess at Alexandra Anne and kindly asked if we could pop by to look at some dresses (this was possibly around 4 weeks before the wedding, eeek). Jess was super understanding and opened the shop up especially, to make sure I got my perfect dress”.

with Jess’ years of experience, having previously worked at Charlie Brear for 12 years, comes an expertise which isn’t easily found and this is what struck gorgeous bride Lucy; “I originally dreamt of a large Cinderella type of dress; something with lace and delicate embroidery, however I went for something completely the opposite. Jessica obviously knew what would suit me and got it spot on!! Cannot thank her enough!”
As the boutqiue’s popularity has grown Jess has needed another pair of hands but wanted to ensure that, whoever is serving you, the experience is still perfect so who better than a previous AA bride? Recent customer Lisa can confirm that she was the perfect choice to join Team Alexandra Anne; “Jenny was so welcoming and helped me find a range of dresses to try which were bang on my style and what I was looking for, but also some options I hadn’t considered, which were beautiful too. Jenny really knows her stuff when it comes to the dresses and accessories which work well with them, as well as being kind and patient”.
