Now to give you an insight into The Carriage Hall we hand you over to Liz to tell your all about her big day at there……..
Firstly where and when did you get married?
Jordan and I got married at The Carriage Hall in Plumtree (Nottinghamshire) on 6th July 2012.
What made you decide on your wedding venue?
We had been looking for venues for a while but as soon as we visited The Carriage Hall we knew it was perfect! It had everything we were looking for, good food, beautiful surroundings, it was modern and stylish and we could have everything all in one venue. The Carriage Hall fitted perfectly with the style of wedding we wanted.
What was it like choosing your dress and had you always had your heart set on that style?
I tried on tons of dresses before I found the right one. I was very fussy. I knew exactly what I did not want but it took a while to find what I did want! I had an idea of styles when I started looking but when I had tried a few on that changed. I saw my Alfred Angelo dress in a magazine and fell in love with it. I contacted stockists about the designer until I found a local shop who had it. The sample they had was size 20 and bright pink but I knew it was just what I wanted despite that! My ivory strapless dress had layers of netting on skirt and bow detail on the waist.
Talk us through the theme and decor of the wedding?
The most important thing for us was that we wanted a relaxed day which reflected us as a couple. We wanted it to be a fun day without having to follow tradition to strictly. The venue and the dress had a massive impact on the theme and the decor. They were the style inspiration. I wanted to keep the theme ‘classic and stylish’. We wanted it to feel very summery with the flowers (although the weather did not help as it was raining throughout the day!) Beautiful pink peonies, stylish but classic.
Anything quirky and creative we should know about your wedding?
We asked all of our guests to choose a song to play in the evening. We wanted
everyone to feel like they were a ‘key part’ of our day.
We would also like to say a massive thank you to Mark Pugh for photographing our special day. We had an amazing time and his beautiful images will be a constant reminder we can keep forever. Thank you again.
