Sustainability with Style
There's no doubt about it - everyone is thinking about how they can be kinder to the environment and that includes the wedding industry, with couples seeking ways to have a sustainable celebration. But an eco-friendly wedding doesn't mean you have to compromise on style and the epic team behind this editorial are here with their inspiration...
Photographer, Tess Viera, explains...
“This shoot was all about eco/sustainable/ethical products and suppliers; from handmade macrame backdrops to kind hair and makeup products, we wanted to show that a bride and groom can care for the planet AND have a dream wedding.
Two rooms were dressed at The White Hart Inn, Derbyshire for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, with two styles complimenting each other nicely. Pampas grass was a theme through-out adding a bohemian look and feel, ideal for a countryside wedding.
The shoot was a great opportunity to work with some incredible suppliers. For myself as a photographer it is important to me to continuously find ways to cut down my carbon footprint; using rechargeable batteries, recycling or selling on my equipment and keeping my power consumption to a minimum. It was a pleasure to work with like-minded women, women who’s handmaid creations and ethical product choices made this shoot come to life.
Inspiration for this shoot came from a need to look after the planet, and wanting to bring awareness to the wedding industry about how important it is care for our environment, even on your wedding day.
The White Hart Inn overlooks the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. They have two beautiful rooms to say ‘I do’, The Moorwood Suite is a refined canvas to style your dream wedding reception, a private lounge bar with country decor will greet your guests and an outdoor terrace provides a beautiful retreat during the day, with log burners, chandeliers and blankets providing a cosy space in the fresh air. There are 17 suites for guests and a stunning honeymoon suite, an ideal way to end any wedding day.”
