Trends at the Riding School!

Trends at the Riding School!

If you’re looking for a rustic blank canvas to stamp you’re own mark on, set amongst beautiful grounds then The Riding School at Calke Abbey is the venue for you. We caught up with Helen & Sally from Honeysuckle and Castle to hear their ideas on this rural venue….

With the next Wedding Open Day at Calke Abbey soon approaching (14th July) and a lovely flow of weddings soon to come at the ‘ever so quirky’ Calke Abbey, we are very excited to see what themes, trends and styles will be hitting the Riding School.

The Riding School, set within the stunning grounds of Calke Abbey, is a truly unique wedding venue – what makes it even more special is that it is a perfect blank canvas for you to add your own personal stamp. The Riding School would make a beautiful backdrop to all different styles, themes and trends from vintage country garden to elegant city chic.

Sally & I regularly say ‘if I was getting married at Calke Abbey I would….’and share different styling ideas between ourselves – this is where our latest blog leads us. Over the next week or so Sally & I are going to share our own styling ideas that we feel would beautifully compliment the Riding School.

Here is my take on ‘If I was getting married at Calke Abbey I would…’

Firstly, I would make the most of the stunning exposed brick…

I love being crafty and creative! And these pom poms are so simple to make – adding your own personal touches really do make your wedding unique to you.  Event if you haven’t got the artistic gene surely you have a talented aunty or cousin that would be thrilled to be involved in creating special touches to your big day!

Use different textures or patterns to make elements of your wedding stand out!

The Wedding Tree create special keepsakes with a rustic touch, love it all!

Creating the scene is a real must. It’s amazing how simply props, that can be found in your garden shed can change and add to the setting of your big day.

Again, this lace bunting is something so simple and easy to make and look at the plus side, making and creating your own decorations may save some of your wedding budget!

With special thanks to the following for sharing their images: Honeysuckle & Castle, Oehlers Photography , Cakey Wakey, Green Wedding Shoes, Ezekiel Taylor, The Wedding Tree Company, Savoir Weddings and Wedding Ideas Blog.
