With Autumn in full swing, the leaves are turning golden, the air is crisp and the infamous Pumpkin Spice Lattes have returned. Halloween is also just around the corner, so we have found some Halloween inspired wedding ideas for all you brides out there planning a late October wedding.

Even though Summer is over and most of the flowers have gone, doesn’t mean there isn’t an abundance of wedding inspiration at this time of year. If you look outside there are rich orange, brown and golden leaves. There are deep red berries and mahogany brown conkers. Take a look at what fruits and vegetables are in season, red apples and bright orange pumpkins. Even have a look at the different textures that can be found, crispy dry leaves, rough pine cones and twisted bare branches.

Have a look in people’s homes and you’ll be inspired by the Autumn décor such as log burners, candles with spicy, rich aromas, cosy blankets and warm mulled wine. There is a whole wealth of colour combinations you can create from the season, from fruity warm berry shades to bold oranges – there is something to suit all brides. Why not pull out aspects from the season for your wedding decoration. The low, warm light that candles create would make any venue cosy and intimate, just like a cold Autumn evening.

To add a little Halloween twist to your big day, pumpkins are a great all-rounder! Your guests will probably already associate pumpkins with Halloween so have a few pumpkins as decoration to create that Halloween feel.

Because pumpkins are so robust and can stay fresh for a long time, they can withstand being decorated and will last throughout your wedding day. You could paint them, carve them or even cover them in glitter. Decorating them will give your wedding that more glamorous feel. If you wanted a more natural, rustic feel, leaving the pumpkins as they are will give you this style.

But you don’t have to stop there! There are many sweet and savoury pumpkin recipes such as, pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup, even pumpkin fudge! You could include pumpkins into your wedding breakfast or make sweet pumpkin favours for your guests.

Halloween always makes you think of sweets and candy (at least that’s what it reminds us of!). So a great way to incorporate the Halloween vibe into your wedding would be to have some treats for your guests. Toffee and caramel are very popular in the Autumn, so why not have a ‘create your own toffee apple’ station at your wedding? Have some apples on sticks ready to be dipped in different toffees and rolled in sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts and dried fruit. This is guaranteed to be a big hit with your guests!

Mulled wine and cider are a great drink choice for an Autumn wedding. Why not serve them in goblets to give your drinks that spook-factor. Instead of strawberries floating in Prosecco why not replace them for blackberries? Strawberries will have stopped growing when Summer passed and blackberries tend to grow in the late Summer early Autumn. Blackberries are in-keeping with your Autumn style as well as being a dark fruit which is perfect for Halloween!
