This pretty ballet-inspired shoot with Thomasina Brides at Blackbrook House will leave you feeling smitten…
Blackbrook House was a wonderful setting for the Springtime Ballet Brides styled shoot, put together by Thomasina Brides. It's romantic, feminine and ultra-elegant. We chatted to the team about the inspiration for this delightful shoot…
"Thomasina Brides returned to the stylish Blackbrook House in Belper recently, to shoot a sequel to the vintage collection. This time the theme was Springtime Ballet Brides, and once again the beautiful house and period features provided the perfect backdrop."
PINK BLOSSOMS AND ROSES WERE THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR THE SHOOT
“It still felt rather Wintery outside, but after some much-needed restorative hot drinks, it was time to get to work. With hair by Yvette Clark and her assistant Zea, and make-up by Sophie Downing MUA, ballerinas Emily and Connie looked ready to grace any stage. The elegance of the ballerinas was matched by their delicate tulle skirts, made by English Country Vintage. Everyone agreed they would love one in their wardrobe.
Meanwhile Charlotte from Redamancy designed a wedding breakfast table in the main hall, dovetailing perfectly with stationery by Adele of Poppleberry. Polka-Dot Florist’s Amy supplied and arranged the flowers, and she fell in love with the hand-dyed silk ribbons created by Alison from Border Cottage Flowers. Amy’s gorgeous pink blossoms, and peach and pink roses were a perfect choice to tie in with the soft hues of the ballet.
Sarah of The Sugared Rose indulged the throng with a stunning 4-tier confection, displaying hand painted sides. Her individual cutting cake and exquisite iced biscuits were both divine and tempting. Photographing it all was the talented (and 8 months pregnant!) Elena of Elen Studio Photography, who worked tirelessly to capture so many beautiful images from the day. Carrying her lovely bump didn’t stop Elena from whizzing up a step ladder as she searched for the best angles. The shoot was organised and styled by Mary-Ann of Thomasina Brides, whose accessories are also featured.”
BLACKBROOK HOUSE WAS PERFECT FOR THE SHOOT
The inspiration behind the shoot was tulle, a pastel colour scheme and an abundance of beautiful blossom. The team explain, “Blackbrook is a real treasure of a Country House. Every inch has been beautifully styled with tasteful, vintage, eye-candy props.”
