The musings of a chief bridesmaid
Ruth is a Wedding & Events Co-ordinator at a venue in Derbyshire. She’s also a vocalist available to perform at weddings & functions, she’s just bought her first house with her partner and the most important job of all…she’s chief bridesmaid to her sister and her best friend!
So the wedding fairs for this year are almost finished, winter is officially kicking in…and I still don’t have any radiators in my house! Chilly is not the word! As you may know my partner and I bought a house a few months ago and we’re right in the middle of doing it all up. We’re waiting on some old-fashioned column radiators and until they’re delivered we’re going to bed in jumpers, socks AND slippers, using several hot water bottles and drinking lots of tea to keep warm! It’s a good job I have some a vast array of wedding magazines and blogs to keep me entertained and take my mind off the chilly weather!
So, if you’re new to the world of weddings or if, like me you need something to take your mind off the cold weather may I suggest the following to keep you inspired…. Wedding blogs & wedding mags, especially Save the Date magazine! Grab a cup of tea, get nice and warm by the fire and have a good old read! There are so many fabulous wedding blogs out there right now they’ll keep you going right the way through the winter. Packed with ideas, inspiration & real life weddings, by the time we get around to February and the wedding fairs pick up again you’ll be bursting with ideas ready to get those all important suppliers booked for your big day!
There might not be any wedding fairs to attend at the moment but there are still plenty of lovely little events happening! There’s a pamper party at the Owl House Spa next month, head along for hen party inspiration. Or there’s a Pre-Christmas pamper evening with free treatments, homemade Christmas cards & gifts & tarot card readings at The Living Room in Nottingham! See below for more details.
Since there are no more wedding fairs for me to sing at and no weddings that need co-ordinating over the next few weeks I’m taking a well-earned break and heading to Thailand with my other half. I’ve always wanted to go there and can’t believe this time next week we’ll be in Bangkok! (That’s if the flooding subsides anyway). This leaves me to say thank-you for reading, keep warm, have fun at those girly pamper events and I’ll be back in around a month’s time! x
