| STYLED SHOOT | Woodland Luxe
When this one landed in our inbox, we might just have let our a little squeeze! Take a minute to just take in all that gorgeousness; if this shoot is not perfection when we don't know what is. Whimsical, etherical, pretty and earthy, we just love every detail. Set at Sherwood Glade, a new venue, set in acres of beautiful unspoilt woodland in the Nottinghamshire countryside where you can have your wedding under the canopy of the trees or under the canvas of their three large Tipi’s, this shoot focuses on sustainability. Shoot organiser, Samantha from Willow and Rust Weddings, tells us more...
“The aim of this shoot was to re-use and reclaim as much as possible and not buy anything new, to create a luxurious vintage look that contrasted with the surrounding woodland. All of the props, tableware, glassware and furniture, were either found by rummaging in antique and second hand shops, borrowed from friends and family or rented. The fabric drops, linens and ribbons were all made from natural fabrics hand dyed with organic natural dyes. The stationary was printed on recycled seed paper which was planted after the event and left to grow.
The beautiful dress was made by a local designer, using remnants of fabrics that she already had in her workshop and will be re-purposed afterwards for another dress or other piece of clothing. This was accessorised with a vintage necklace and hair comb. The suit was borrowed from a local wedding boutique.
Our amazing floral designer Catherine, sourced the flowers from a local supplier, the roses were from a carbon neutral grower and the foliage and greenery she foraged from the local countryside and even the woodland itself. No foam was used for the arrangements, the larger scale designs were either tied or secured using a structure made from natural materials like twigs and foliage, the bouquet and buttonhole were hand tied.”
