Regal, majestic and thoroughly beautiful
With drama series “The crown” and "Bridgerton" having quite the moment, what better time to link back to an opulent “Royal” style wedding. Although current weddings are seeing a smaller number of guests, this doesn’t have to mean a cut in luxuries.
The styling is just beautifully classical but far from stuffy; elegant, refined and totally regal! Eat your heart out Wills and Kate...
Of course, Hodsock Priory provided the perfect backdrop for this styled shoot, with its Grand interiors and perfectly manicured gardens. A stunning wedding venue, set in 800 acres of countryside, featuring its very own Tudor Gatehouse.
Organised by Hannah Blinko Hair Stylist and Hannah Dora Make Up, we catch up with the ladies to find out more about their inspiration behind the shoot.
“Lana, wore two different styles of dress from the Mikaella Bridal collection. Both wowed with modesty, elegance and sophistication. Adorned with sumptuous crepe tailoring paired with bespoke lace & organza fabric; the epitome of Bridal Royalty. Both dresses were accessorized beautifully with a cathedral length, lace edged veil by UK designer Richard Designs.
Makeup was kept unchanged throughout; pared back and radiant. The soft pinky hues graced the look in the form of Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow stick in Golden Pink, Nars Blusher in Tempted, finished with Charlotte tilbury’s iconic Pillow Talk Lip products. A homage to the modern royal’s bridal makeup style.
Two hairstyles were created for Lana’s natural curly hair. A low bun paired with the show stopping crystal crown exuded romance and resembles the modern bride with a royal twist. The Second; a relaxed half up style, perfectly embellished with a luxurious Botias” headband; encrusted with crystals, pearl beading and silver brocade, gave more of a ‘party’ vibe.
“The Floral decoration combined a mix of White Avalanche Roses, Pink Lisianthus and homegrown Jasmine nestled in between seasonal eucalyptus and Hodsock garden greenery. A large casqued hand tied bouquet gave those regal vibes while still innkeeping with modern trends.
Table styling saw a dreamy torrent of white and dusty blue flowing layered fabrics, an abundance of wild unstructured florals, tall crystal cut candle sticks coupled with striking dusky blue taper candles. The place settings where formed using textured porcelain embossed chargers, layered with simple beaded top plates, paired with impressive 18 carat gold boned cutlery. Soft pastel blue napkins and handwritten place cards to completed the look of a truly royal opulence.
Created to add elegance and movement, rice paper sails entwined on the front of the cake. Height and grace were added with handmade Lunaria and gold edging finished the two-tier masterpiece.”
Meghan Markle herself wore the same ‘Daphne’ art-deco earrings on one of her last official royal engagements. The vivid green centre jewels set to catch ones eye.
Lana also wore the ‘Mondello’ pearl chain set by designer ‘Soru’ whose work has been worn by the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
It may be a little excessive to wear three sets of jewellery but who cares when you’re a princess!?
The ‘Motley London Guinevere’ heart earrings couldn’t be left out! As seen in the almighty Vogue UK.
The mood of the photography captured was the perfect outcome, with the character and vision of the shoot shining through.”
