| STYLED SHOOT | Alternative Vintage Micro Wedding
At Save the Date HQ, we do love good styled shoot for gorgeous inspiration and this one is a corker. With a retro feel and a slight nod a new romantic style, this shoot is oozing with #instaworthy imagery and we just can't get enough - every aspect from the stationery to the cake, the dress to the setting is perfect!
Organiser, Samantha from Willow and Rust Weddings tells us more...
When I was offered this amazing location to plan and style a shoot I just had to go for a Micro Wedding, it was the perfect spot to show what can be done in a short amount of time with 13 guests plus the Bride and Groom. I wanted to show that a Micro Wedding is a great opportunity to be unique and personal and really focus on the areas and things that matter to you as a couple.
The Boathouse is a beautiful location in Nottinghamshire with a gorgeous lake and grounds, the perfect spot for a small ceremony and then the Boathouse itself large enough to seat 15 comfortably with enough space to feel safe but not so large that you and your guests feel lost.
The colour palette is one of feminine drama with a base of soft grey, pale cream and blush pink but with pops of deep dark red and black to add that slight feeling of theatre. All bought together with foliage in a mix of greens.
For the décor I wanted to go for a vintage feel with antique and reclaimed props but with a slightly unique and alternative feel, bringing in some drama with touches of the deep red and black, while still keeping a soft and feminine feel with layered table linens and soft pink roses.
The dress was designed and made by a local designer, the lace top feeling delicate, feminine and vintage whilst bringing in drama with a full layered skirt and black overlay. The handmade Anemone hair accessories and matching buttonhole fit perfectly with the brief, delicate soft pink with a dark centre.
Fewer guests also means that you can add more personal touches for example I chose to show personalised favours purchased for each guest from Antique stores on this shoot, and we finished the day toasting marshmallows around the firepit.
