Today, Grace, discusses the hot trends and why you need to go all big haired and bouncy dressed this wedding season … over to Grace:
Well, we all know what the recent trend in weddings has been….Vintage Chic. It’s been incorporated into all things wedding for around a year now and just doesn’t seem to be getting old! However, brides now seem to be trying to add that bit of ‘pizzaz’ into their decor and theming by taking inspiration from the 1950’s.
There’s so many ways that this can be done, whether you’re looking for the full blown 1950’s wedding with your guests thinking ‘Have I just been transported in time?!’ with the RAF pin-up inspired cake (as seen on Choccywoccydoodah recently!), the tight waves in the hair, the short ‘Grease’ inspired dress or just adding a little touch of glam into your big day with a dash of vibrant red lippy, the 1950’s can still be incorporated.
So many style icons have been encapsulated by this trend for years, including the likes of Dita Von Teese…. and now it’s time for us to take note! The 1950’s was a time when glamour was of utmost importance. Ladies wouldn’t dream of leaving the house without some fierce red lipstick carefully placed on their lips and a mid length, net filled skirt brushing their calves.
So, what are the key pieces that can be included in your wedding to ensure that you tick the ‘must’ boxes for your on trend, 1950’s inspired wedding?
- Bright red lipstick
- Liquid eye liner
- Tight waved hair
- Calf length, net filled dresses for yourself or your bridesmaids (or both!)
- Net fascinators
This trend has slowly been trickling into the fashion world, with many celebrities taking inspiration from the recent ‘Mad Men’ TV programme, sporting the tight rollered hair and calf length, figure enhancing dresses, and now it is well and truly hitting the wedding world with a bang! Be sure to add some of these eclectic touches to your big day to be on trend this season.
See you next time!
