Save the Date Magazine – Behind the Scenes
Well, it’s been all change here at Save the Date HQ. Mostly down to the fact that we now have a new home and sit tapping away on our laptops in a rather gorgeous barn conversion in pretty much the middle of nowhere. Well, in fact, it is within Langley Priory Estate and we’re very exciting to be working with the Priory but more on that soon ….
We’re surrounded by bunny rabbits, cute birds (which we’re becoming quite obsessed with and have even considered borrowing my dads bird book to identify each colourful little cutie!) and gorgeous horses trotting past. A stones throw from East Midlands airport, not only have we become avid bird watchers but we can now also tell you the flight path of every Ryanair and Bmi Baby plane. Oh yes, we really are that cool.
Oh and did we mention that the Owl House Spa is within walking distance? Oh yes.
So, today, we thought we’d give you a little insight into life at Save the Date HQ. A couple of weeks ago when we actually witnessed some sunshine, the lovely Rachael Connerton paid us a visit for tea and cake and captured some snaps of myself and Abbi ‘doing business’.
Well, technically, ‘business’ for us means planning the magazine, talking through our events, meeting clients and generally immersing ourselves in the wonderful world of weddings. So, we’re hardly setting the world alight with facts and figures, board meetings, suits and brief cases. But that’s the life we left behind and working on Save the Date Magazine, in our opinion, is far more fun 🙂
Planning for the magazine is always a challenge. A fun challenge but getting the balance right can be quite difficult. So, every few months, we sit together and bounce lots of ideas around for the next edition of the magazine – talking photo shoots, product placements, client feature spreads, real weddings to feature plus lots more. We really do work hard to try and bring you a pretty piece of inspiration each and every time we publish.
The big event is coming up so here we are talking through the plan for the day; deciding which zones to place where, what to do about catering, discussing exhibitors we have confirmed and how we can make the next wedding event with a difference the best yet! Look at our faces – serious stuff!
Then, we took a trip to Whatton House Gardens which is a new wedding venue just launching only a 5 minute drive from our office. Their wedding open day takes place on Sunday 19 August and we’re working with the lovely Amanda over at Whatton House to help make the day a great success. Here we are, sat within their amazing gardens chatting through our ideas (and me swooning over Amanda’s gorgeous pink note book – LOVE)
We didn’t manage to get any pictures of myself, Abbi and Rachael eating our way through the lemon drizzle cake but there’s a reason for that ….
So, there you have it. A bit of a ‘behind the scenes’ montage to show you what we’re up to, what we have planned and of course, to tell you about our lovely new home 🙂
