Ruth Terry – the musings of a chief bridesmaid

Ruth Terry – the musings of a chief bridesmaid

Ruth is a Wedding & Events Co-ordinator at a venue in Derbyshire. She’s also a vocalist soon to be performing at weddings, she’s just moved into her first house with her partner and the most important job of all…she’s chief bridesmaid to her sister and her best friend!

Well…the biggest news from the past 2 weeks is…my sister has found her wedding dress! My sister, mum & I had a free Saturday morning so thought we’d pop along to The White Room in Southwell, little did we know Katie’s wedding dress was there waiting for her! I can’t say much about it as she’d like it to be a complete surprise for all the guests. What I can say is that it’s the exact opposite of the idea she had in mind! As Katie is my little sister I’ve always seen her as a little girly but when she had her dress on….wow. She looked absolutely beautiful, she looked like a grown up woman…cue tissues for Mum and I! I really am so proud of her, she’s going to looking amazing on her wedding day next September! We also sorted the bridesmaid dresses after seeing the perfect colour… she had originally decided on royal blue but after seeing the wedding dress, decided that a lighter colour would compliment it. The colour she’s going for is called cloudy blue & it’s gorgeous!

The White Room by the way is a lovely bridal shop that I can absolutely recommend, Sam is so accommodating & has a lot of time for her customers. There’s a good range of dresses and if you’re on a budget there’s a sale area with some great dresses at ridiculous prices!

So Mike (my other half) was the best man at his friend’s wedding the other weekend over on The Wirral, he got more and more nervous as the day went on building up to his speech but he had no need to worry, he was great & he had everyone laughing at all the right moments. It was a lovely day and the cupcakes that made part of the wedding cake were the best I’ve ever tasted…I cheekily had 2!

The Yummy Cupcakes!

Oh, I almost forgot, here’s Mike and I in the church, doesn’t he look smart? Awww.

Finally, not forgetting my gorgeous friend Laurie-Anne, she’s getting married in 2013 at The Olde Bell Inn in Retford, they had an open day last weekend so a group of us girls went along to see the place…it was huge! I fell in love with the bridal suites, in particular the bathrooms! I know that sounds strange but how lovely are these…!

It was lovely to see where Laurie-Anne is getting married; the ceremony will be outside in the gardens, they are beautiful. There’s also a huge tree swing which is going to make for some great pictures!

It’s all about performing at wedding open days over the next few weeks for me, I’ll be at the Shottle Hall open day next Sunday and at the Save the Date event the Sunday after (16th October), it’s going to be fab, I’ll hopefully see you there!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the sun (crazy weather we’re having but I’m not complaining!) & I’ll be back in 2 weeks x
