Ruth Terry – the musings of a chief bridesmaid

Ruth Terry – the musings of a chief bridesmaid

Ruth is a Wedding & Events Co-ordinator at a venue in Derbyshire. She’s also a vocalist soon to be performing at weddings, she’s just moved into her first house with her partner and the most important job of all…she’s chief bridesmaid to her sister and her best friend!

I write this as the rain pelts down outside, there’s a cold feeling in the air (winter coats anyone?) & leaves are falling off the trees (already!), what on earth happened to our summer?! Well, it might be over but wedding talk & planning is stronger than ever within my group of friends & family!

Little sister & bride-to-be is all better & complete with new car after her car accident last month. I took her to see Lee Evans in Nottingham the other weekend and it really cheered her up. She’d been stuck indoors & off work for a while because of the accident so it was nice to get her out and laugh lots.

I co-ordinated a beautiful wedding last weekend at work, I actually cried as the bride walked down the stairs she looked absolutely amazing! Whether that’s unprofessional of me or not I’m not entirely sure, it did make me wonder though, am I the right person for the job of a Wedding Co-ordinator? Every bride I see I just end up blubbing! It’s a bit embarrassing really. Is there anyone else that works in the wedding industry & feels the need to have a little blub at weddings?! I hope it’s not just me!

I had a shoot with Field Photography recently to get some pics for my website (which is almost ready but not quite!) here’s a taster of my guitarist and I…

Another few weeks of weddings & wedding related activities ahead for me…

I’m off to The Wirral later, the place where my fella hails from. He’s best man at his friend’s wedding tomorrow and he’s been going through his speech every night for the past week! I think even I know it off by heart now I’ve heard it so many times! The Bride Steph & Groom Dave are a perfect match, they’ve been together since they were 16 years old & they’re absolute childhood sweethearts. Hmmm I think I’d better get ready & put plenty of tissues in my bag!

Now, since I’m usually working weddings & not actually attending them, I thought I’d splash out and bought a dress called ‘Flora’ from Hobbs for the Wirral wedding…what do you think? I can’t wait to wear it!

I’ll take lots of pics and share them with you on the blog in 2 weeks time.

Finally, next Sunday (25th Sept) I’m off to the Olde Bell Inn open day with my very good friend who’s getting married in 2013, I can’t wait to see where she will tie the knot! It’s a free event and the pictures on the website don’t do the place justice! More details can be found here:

Enjoy the rest of September and I’ll be back in 2 weeks time! x
