Introduction

Industrial Vibes

This shoot was put together by myself, the photographer, and Emily from Sass Weddings.
With the idea of creating a Rustic Scandinavian shoot, Emily styled 2 looks, an icy woodland tablescape followed by a rich and candlelit setting with rust velvet details. The styling for both is brought to life by the wonderful handcrafted stationery of Millie Stone UK combining modern calligraphy with rustic textures and watercolour details.

Ruby J Beauty created two make up looks to compliment each look. The first is soft and smokey with a little drama added for the second look with shimmering copper tones and a deep blush lip. Kathy Gentles from the Sally Montague group created a soft and romantic hairstyle for the bride with soft falling curls and a show stopping sheer veil.

A bouquet from Maria's Flowers containing eucalyptus and lots of dried grasses and seed pods was delicate and feminine with a real, 'just picked from the woods' vibe which suited the theme perfectly.

Sass Weddings styled a fun a banquet style cake and treat table perfect for any family occasion along with a relaxed kids tipi area with rustic textiles both were perfect opportunities for capturing our cheeky flower girl at her best.
The cake itself was by Bake Ashbourne and was a semi naked toffee drip cake which was the perfect centrepiece for the relaxed banquet style alongside hand painted cookies and delicious silver foiled macarons.

WHAT WAS IN THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE SHOOT?

“The nordic concept of the shoot was designed by Sass Weddings and modern Scandinavian style ceramics and glassware with rustic woodland elements and tumbling foliage. The colour palette of icy greys, forest green and eucalyptus is offset with natural textures and a pop of deep rust.

The team decided the shoot should feel like an intimate family occasion and the choice of models, a real family of 3 helped us to achieve this. Mum, Molly wore a dress kindly provided by Ivory White Of Duffield which oozes romance with its oversized lace motifs and icy grey layers with our flower girl in a handmade gown from Cuddles And Kisses Atelier.
Photographer, Ellie from EKR Pictures was able to capture so many raw and authentic moments between the three of them.

The former cotton mill turned wedding venue was the perfect location for our Scandinavian woodland inspired shoot. Set in rolling Derbyshire countryside, Haarlem Mill possesses a rare balance of industrial chic and country charm. It had a cosy feel to it, with the bare brick and the low ceilings, but still with modern vibes. The exterior of the building featured a green metal staircase which made for a stunning, industrial backdrop for some shots of the bride and groom.”
