How To Pull Off An Unforgettable Summer Wedding
Summer is the most popular time of the year to say ‘We Do’, and is it any wonder? This glorious season offers beautiful sunny weather, the chance for an outdoor celebration and the opportunity for divine details and decorations. Today we’ve teamed up with the experts from our Cream of the Crop Wedding Directory to provide you with some essential ideas for pulling off an unforgettable Summer wedding…
Summer Wedding Photography Tips
When it comes to Summer wedding celebrations, Rachael Connerton Photography certainly knows a thing or two. Rachael always advises couples to make the most of golden hour – “Capturing some beautiful, back-lit portraits of the two of you during the drinks reception is gorgeous in the afternoon sun, but consider factoring in some time (just 15 minutes) later in the evening to make the most of that heavenly light too.” Don’t forget about the warm weather either, Rachael recommends ditching the layers! “If it is a hot day, talk to your photographer about shooting any group shots earlier on in the drinks reception, so that the boys can take off their jackets afterwards and chill (literally!). Or alternatively, go for a more relaxed look anyway for the images, minus the layers.”
Wedding Venue Styling for Summer
When it comes to styling your wedding venue in the Summer, we just knew we had to chat to the team at Modern Heritage Styling. “Try and avoid heavy fabrics for sashes, table runners and swags such as satins, velvets and tweeds as these all have an Autumn / Winter feel. Instead make things light and airy with voiles, chiffons, organza’s, taffetas, lace and silks for a Summer vibe.” The team also say, “Colour-wise, keep those fabrics neutral – white, cream and ivory all the way through to minks, lattes and dusky pinks. This will allow the chair décor to look incredibly classy, elegant and stylish whilst making sure the centrepieces (floral or otherwise) attract attention. Chair décor is intended to enhance the surroundings and compliment all other styling and floral items but rarely to be the main focus of the room.”
Details and Decorations for your Wedding Day
We’re huge fans of In My Life and we just can’t get over their gorgeous floral LOVE letters. As a prop based business, the team say that Summer weddings are their favourite as the sunny weather and outdoor space creates endless possibilities for their props! “Our Floral LOVE letters look fabulous at a Summer wedding. The bright florals really stand out in the day and look amazing in photographs. We can even adjust some of the flower colourings to suit the tones of the day and we can also add fairy lights to the letters in the evening so that the LOVE continues to stand out as the sun sets! The Floral LOVE makes a fabulous backdrop for an outdoor ceremony! My advice to anybody planning their Summer wedding would be… don’t hold back! If you have a vision of your perfect Summer wedding in your head then share that with your suppliers and let them help you to make it a reality – it’s what we love to do!”
