Musings of a chief bridesmaid by Ruth Terry

It’s now less than four months until my little sister gets married, can’t believe how quickly its come around! I’m her chief bridesmaid and I’m helping her plan her wedding, she’s going for a rustic, countryside theme.

If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that we’ve booked and sorted pretty much everything now, we just have the little details left to concentrate on as well as a church rehearsal.

My sister, Katie, is having three bridesmaids and wants us all in exactly the same clothing and accessories so everything flows and looks consistent! I searched for ages for the perfect hairpieces and jewellery for us bridesmaids and eventually found the perfect items to go with our cloudy blue full length dresses (pictured below), what do you think?

The hair clip was from http://www.glitzysecrets.com/and I found the necklaces in a Debenhams sale!

You may remember me telling you about my fabulous friend who is getting married July 2013. I’m also her chief bridesmaid and preparations are well underway for her big day! She’s picked her dress (which is amazing!) and paid a deposit on it so it’s definitely hers! (Dress from Nottingham’s New Bride www.newbride.co.uk). She’s also bought her wedding favours, booked the videographer (www.cherishmedia.co.uk) and she’s about to order her invitations, which look something like this….

How great are they! She’s going for an old fashioned, quirky fair theme and I think these will fit perfectly! The invitations are from http://www.whyteweddings-uk.com/, we actually found this fabulous wedding supplier at Save the Date’s Wedding event last month!

Finally, I’m delighted to tell you that I’m now working for the beautiful Thrumpton Hall co-ordinating weddings and managing their social media channels! If you are recently engaged and having a think about your venue, Thrumpton is a magnificent stately home originally built in the 16th Century. It is a lived in, family home so it has a very warm and happy feel to it. The lovely Lydia (co-founder of Save the Date magazine) got married at Thrumpton! It really is a very special venue that has been well looked after, find Thrumpton on facebook and twitter and say hello!
