TELL US ABOUT THE SHOOT…
“Myself and Magda K Photography really wanted to create an editorial that was inspiring for brides, but also unique and atmospheric. Experimenting with purple hues was key to the shoot – our florist, Frances & Rose, created a colour palette for the bouquet and floral arrangements that was individual and absolutely stunning. Tone, movement and expression was fundamental. We combined soft, delicate lace pieces by Susanna Greening Designs (including bespoke lingerie) with a dark, moody palette and a gorgeous model. The magical bath shots were very carefully planned to create an entrancing, fairytale effect. Combined with the beauty of Aswarby Rectory, the editorial was as atmospheric as we had planned and we’re very proud of the final images.”
WHAT INSPIRED THE SHOOT?
“Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2018: Ultraviolet. However, we wanted to do it differently to the shoots we’d seen before – the ultraviolet hue was central to the shoot, but we experimented with a colour palette that mixed in peach hues, lilacs and wild green foliage. We also took inspiration from fashion editorials to create our moody, ultraviolet bridal shoot.
The absolutely stunning Aswarby Rectory is a new, beautiful wedding venue in Lincolnshire. We were so lucky to be able to shoot there. The light, bright open spaces, pretty rooms and atmospheric stairwells were the perfect setting for our editorial.”
