A newly launched, Derby based, bridal boutique with a difference, In The Name Of Love focuses on non-traditional wedding dresses and outfits to make sure you feel amazing on your dream day, no matter your style! From trouser suits to mini dresses adorned with ostrich feathers, there is something for everyone and so we couldn’t resist getting in on the action; here we chat to owner Abby to find out more…
What sort of outfits do you stock?
We have a great range of outfits honestly. If you’d consider your wedding ‘non-traditional’ then we definitely have something for you. We have a range of stunning silk slip dresses perfect for beach weddings or city elopements, we have pant suits for those brides after a little Bianca Jagger moment, we have jumpsuits, short dresses and then we have dresses which you might associate more with a wedding day that are just a bit sleeker and more modern than your traditional princess gown. We also get a lot of brides visit us who are after a second outfit for their big day (usually a cool evening look) and we fully support this level of extra!
Tell us a bit about you and In The Name Of Love?
In The Name Of Love is my bridal boutique on Sadler Gate in Derby. We specialise in bridal outfits and accessories for modern weddings and elopements. We stock some incredible designers, some of which we are the only UK stockist meaning you won’t find that collection anywhere else in the country. We are also home to an exclusive collection of pieces that aren’t available anywhere else in the world. I’ve worked in the wedding industry for a while as a wedding planner (so absolutely love chatting to customers about their wedding plans) and when I got married myself I found I really struggled to find a dress/outfit that suited my personality. I’m a “jeans over dress” kind of girl any day so picking a huge princess dress just felt unnatural! Speaking to the couples I was working with at the time, I found a lot of them had a similar experience and so ITNOL was born. I wanted to create a home for all those people who wanted something a little less traditional, whilst still offering a friendly and approachable service.
What would you want someone to know before visiting you?
That we are a genuinely friendly and judgement free team, and I think all of our current customers would agree. One of my biggest goals here is to make sure every single person leaves the shop feeling like they’ve been thoroughly looked after by their advisor. Dress shopping can be such a daunting experience for people and we want to offer a completely anxiety-free experience. If you have questions you can always get in touch with us and I promise no question is a silly question; we love getting the chance to speak to you before you come for an appointment so ask away. And if we don’t sell what you’re looking for, we will help you find somewhere that does.
Tell us something most people don’t know about ITNOL?
A lot (not all… yet) of our pieces can be customised to suit you. Whether that be giving you a longer train or adding a high back to a dress so you can wear a bra, we’ll make the outfit suit you rather than making you suit the outfit. We can also offer a semi-bespoke service where we can create a piece bespoke to you based on other pieces we already stock. For example, love our wrap top but don’t want to wear separates? We’ll make it a wrap dress.
