Benessamy Wedding & Event Planning
Who are you and what do you do?

I began my professional and business career as a solicitor in the public sector before moving into external and corporate affairs where I gained my event planning and organisational experience organising corporate and special events. Having trained with the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners (UKAWP) I launched Benessamy in 2011 and am now a UKAWP Member. I enjoy organising special occasions and love to pay particular attention to turning our clients’ dreams into a reality.

Benessamy is a Nottingham based wedding planning and special events company – creating stylish & unique weddings and events for clients across the East Midlands and further afield. From proposal to I Do, first dance to honeymoon getaway we will work closely with our clients to make sure their wedding or special event is special, runs smoothly and is memorable for all the right reasons.

What do you feel makes your service stand out from the crowd?

Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting but also stressful times of a person’s life. Our clients often have a demanding job or busy lifestyle and the idea of spending every spare moment meeting wedding suppliers and visiting venues may not be appealing to them. Others find negotiating a little difficult and leave it to me to lead these discussions with their wedding venue and suppliers on their behalf. With my legal and corporate affairs background I am a confident negotiator and also understand the difficulties that time pressed professionals can face when trying to juggle their demanding and hectic lifestyle with the complexities of planning their wedding day.

Many of our services are bespoke and as such are priced according to the scale and size of a client’s wedding. We do not accept commission from suppliers and any discounts obtained are always passed onto our clients which will often mean a saving for them. This helps us to maintain our independence and ensures that we provide advice, support and recommendations which are appropriate to our clients’ tastes, priorities and budget.

What are your predictions of trends in your industry for 2013/2014?

Mint colour schemes are very popular for those wanting a fresh look and feel and a pop of strong bold colour is another growing trend. In terms of wedding gowns, statement sleeves (with gorgeous lace) and statement backs are definitely a favourite this year.

Finally, what do you love the most about being involved in the wonderful world of weddings?

Just about everything to be honest but especially taking the time to get to know our clients and the absolute privilege of being part of such a special day.
