Inspire me: Fortnightly Style Lounge with Michele Gledhill – Peony Passion
By now we all know that Michele Gledhill is the best when it comes to foreseeing wedding trends, especially in her forte, flowers! Sit back and scroll through this lovely blog with the flowers we love this season, peonies!
“Who doesn’t love peonies?! With their gorgeous scent and soft, ruffly layers of petals, peonies have to be the most beautiful, romantic wedding bloom available. I have spoken to so many brides over the last couple of weeks, all desperate to incorporate peonies into their wedding flowers but not realising how short lived their season is.
If you are determined to have peonies, you will need to plan for a May/June wedding to avoid being disappointed.
Flower trends change so much but I don’t think the stunning peony will ever go out of fashion. They symbolize prosperity, good health and happy marriage in the language of flowers, so are the perfect choice for your big day.
Peonies can be used in so many different ways to create such varied looks. Create drama and elegance with a mass of blooms in feature arrangements and centrepieces…
And who wouldn’t want a bouquet full of peonies?!
Peonies are available in a range of gorgeous colours, from soft, delicate whites and lush pinks to deeper, more dramatic corals and reds.
If peonies aren’t available for your wedding, there are a few alternatives that will create a similar look…try David Austin roses for their blousy, country garden style…
Another alternative for the DIY bride is to make these stunning paper peonies! These could be used as a bouquet or for your guests place settings.
Why not extend the theme into your cake design…
I absolutely adore this cake table display on a bed of cascading pink peonies!
So will peonies be making an appearance on your wedding day…or are you even considering moving your wedding date to make sure that you can have peonies?! Let me know what you think of these stunning blooms!!”
We LOVE peonies here at Save the Date and look forward to seeing some real weddings featuring them soon!
