Ideas and inspiration with a chief bridesmaid
It’s Friday so it’s time to put your feet up and prepare for the fun and frolics of the weekend ahead …. and who better to start your weekend off than Ruth and her insight on what it’s like being a bridesmaid to more than one bride ….. drama, drama, drama! Over to you Ruth:
Phew, it’s been a busy few weeks…as always! For those of you that don’t know, my sister is getting married in September. I’m her chief bridesmaid and I’m helping her plan her wedding, she’s going for a rustic, countryside theme.
My closest girlfriend is also getting married next summer, my chief bridesmaid duties will again be needed so I’m not exaggerating when I say almost every weekend is taken up with something wedding related at the moment…and I absolutely love it!
My sister, mum and I are ploughing through the wedding planning at the mo! We stumbled across some beautiful bridesmaids shoes online, they were an absolute bargain…just £25! They arrived last week and we’re thrilled with them! What do you think?
There’s a huge selection of shoes, click here if you’d like to have a browse!
Last weekend it was my lovely friend’s turn for her very first dress try on. She’s getting married July 2013. The ceremony will be outside and she’s going for an old fashioned, quirky fair theme, it’s going to be wonderful! She’d seen a couple of dresses on the House of Fraser website so we all jumped on the train and had a girly day out in Birmingham where there was a huge selection of dresses! She tried on plenty but the search continues. We’re going to have a day in Nottingham soon and hopefully get some more dresses tried on. Ever since it opened I’ve had my eye on Lace Market Bridal Boutique so I’m sure we’ll head there soon!
Finally, I wanted to tell you about a great little site called Pinterest! I cannot believe I only came across this a few weeks ago; I’m now hooked and on it every single day! If you’ve not heard of Pinterest it’s basically a website that allows you to ‘pin’ images that you love from websites and put them altogether into a board for you. It’s absolute perfect if you have lots of ideas for your wedding and you want to store them all in one place. It’s interesting, even if you have no idea what kind of theme or things you’d like to include in your wedding, if you pin everything that you like you’ll more than likely start to see a theme emerge and voila! That’s your wedding mood board sorted!
Although I’m not a Bride-to-be just yet, I’ve put together a board…I couldn’t resist! Below is a screen shot of my ‘Dream Destination Wedding’ board….
Until next time lovelies! Ruth x
