I thee Wed – Lou & Steve
Today, we bring you the stunning wedding of Lou and Steve. Lou is one of the loveliest girls we’ve had the pleasure of meeting during our ‘Save the Date’ journey. Owner of the Greenery, a talented florist, we always knew her wedding would be completely gorgeous. And, just to prove that we really are always right, here is her story and the beautiful big day itself:
“We got married at the Priest House Hotel in Castle Donnington, many reasons for picking here, I’ve been the Priest House florist for 8 years now, and have been part of so many wonderful weddings there. The staff have always been so professional and brilliant, it’s beautiful setting by the river and the food is amazing! We also had enough bedrooms for everyone to stop over and carry on the celebrations over breakfast the next morning.
My wedding theme was slightly vintage, with a touch of English Garden. It was all based around our love for flowers (with groom being a flower wholesaler) peonies, sweet peas, roses, hydrangers, and delphiniums. Colours were based around our shoes, I had pale blue and my bridesmaids had pale pink.
A soon as I started to think about my dress I went to see Lorraine at Lori G in Allestree, I said from the beginning I wanted a shorter dress, as I wanted coloured shoes and for them to been seen. Lorraine insisted that I tried all styles of dresses on before I made a decision, she wanted me to have something different with me working on so many weddings.
I nearly settled for one until Lorraine called me one afternoon. One of her designers Nikki Flynn was in her shop with samples of next seasons dresses for her to look at and she thought I would look fab in one she had with her! I popped in and it was beautiful just what we both had in mind. I tried it on and it fitted perfectly and what made it extra special was that no one else would have the same dress before me as they only just had time to make it for me! And you could see my rather lovely pale blue shoes! My best friend Ali was my bridesmaid and she also wore a cream dress and we linked all the colours together with my little girls dress pale pink with a pale blue sash from Nicki Macfarlane (royal wedding flowers girls dresses)
Every one said how lucky we were being in the industry and knowing everyone and we were, but it also made it hard for us. There are so many brilliant suppliers we know and work with but you can’t use everyone and you don’t want to up set anyone by not using them either. The suppliers I did work with on my day were all amazing we couldn’t of asked for anything more, it was just perfect!
My advise to other brides, just enjoy ever minute of it, the day goes so quickly, we both didn’t stop smiling all day! Love it x
Thank you to everyone involved in our lovely day again xx
