On this rather dreary, miserable Wednesday, we are here to brighten up your day with a stunning wedding. Close friends of Abbi’s, bride and groom Jo & Andy are obviously made for each other. Take a look at the pictures walking down the aisle -the pride in Andy’s face and complete joy in Jo’s is sooo lovely.

Photographer, Matt Brown did a fantastic job of capturing all those special moments and with the challenging British weather to contend with, he did a fantastic job of  telling a beautiful story, from start to finish.

We’ll hand you over to bride, Jo:

Firstly, where and when did you get married?

We got married at Shottle Hall in the Coach House Marquee on 3rd June 2012.

What made you decide on your venue?

I loved the outdoor views onto the Derbyshire Dales , the fairytale feel to the marquee along with the rustic edge of the coach house. Also I loved the relaxed menu as that was the feel we wanted for the day, they allowed us to have a BBQ and chip cones in the evening!

What was it like choosing your dress and had you always had your heart set on that style?

Well the dress! What can I say about the original number! At first, the dress was not a priority for me.  I wanted to ensure that the majority of our wedding funds were spent on ensuring all of our family and friends had an amazing day.  I also couldnt find any dresses that I liked,  so I decided to go for the standard boob tube fairy dress (which did nothing for my shape).  I bought this from ebay for only a small amount, so you can imagine how it fitted! However, I attended the Wedding Event with a Difference back in October and met with the fabulous and talented Rachel and Astra from Timeless Couture.

I was inspired by the amazing dress that the model was wearing, it was so different and creative. I finally felt excited about the thought of having a nice wedding dress. So, after the show, I went to Timeless Coutures studio located in a quiant Derbyshire village, Wirksworth.  I took the dress with me that I brought from ebay and the whole process of changing and adapting the style began.

The whole process was so exciting!  They tried out various styles of dresses on me at the begining to find out what suited my body shape and also what I felt comfortable in.  Then I saw them start to create a beautiful dress.  Rachel and Astra are so creative and nothing is a problem for them.  I felt so special on each appointment and  every time I visited it would be further on.  The detail on the dress was amazing (the back part especially) and it was great to have a dress designed especially for me, it was unique, individual and bespoke.  The whole process from start to finsish was a really enjoyable process.  They also design and hand make jewellery, so I purchased a beautiful pearl cuff bracelet from them too.

Their service is impecable and they even came to my venue on the morning of my wedding day to help me dress.  Also, not only was my dress perfect, you could remove the sleeves, so in the evening it had a totally different look!

I would like to thank Rachel and Astra for making me feel very special on my wedding day.

Talk us through the theme and decor of the wedding

I wanted a shabby chic theme and was also very keen to make a few bits myself.  I really enjoyed buying bits and pieces to create things like the centre pieces and favours.  I brought frames and painted these for the table names – these were really reasonable!

After the BBQ for dessert, we had an ice cream bike which went down really well with the guests. Unfortunately it rained all day so we had to bring it indoors but this didnt spoil the day.

We really wanted to keep our guests entertained throughout the day, so we hired Roy Bond, a talented magician who was brilliant! We also had Jason Hart singing acoustically throughout the day followed by the full band and DJ in the evening.

Anything quirky and creative we should know about your wedding?

We had a great sweet table full of traditional sweets which was really popular with the children and the adults too!

We also had a photo booth in the evening which was part of the photography package from Matt Brown.  This was so much fun and I would really recommend it.

After the wedding, I also used the pictures from the photo booth as thank you cards and sent each guest their own individual photo booth picture as a keepsake from the wedding day.
