I thee Wed – Amy and Daniel
It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for an I thee Wed. Today is the lovely Amy who owns and runs the fabulous Little White Dress. If you live in the East Midlands (or even if you don’t!) and searching for your dream dress, look no further than The Little White Dress in Nottingham. Their dresses are simply fabulous and Amy treats every one of her brides like a true princess.
So, the woman who deals with brides day in, day out plans her wedding. Where does she go? What does she do? Well, read on and find out ….
I got married at The Lodge on loch goilhead Scotland on April 19th which was a Tuesday as they could only just fit me in as it was very last minute – all planned in 3 months!
I found the venue whilst just browsing on the Mr & Mrs Smith website, we really wanted something a little different and not too local (working in bridal I know so many amazing venues however I worried I would always compare my wedding to other brides-most of which are incredible) after we saw the Treehouse nothing else quite compared and it certainly was a bit different! Once I found out the infamous Cadburys Flake advert had been shot there and Madonnas ex chef would be cooking for us, I was sold! I obviously wasn’t the only one as it is the Tree House from the visit Scotland advert that was launched just after we confirmed the date!
Now the dress should of come easily to me, or so I thought….having such a small wedding one of my designers designed and made the most beautiful bespoke gown which I loved. However, the week before the wedding after a very busy day I decided to have a try on of something else and as soon as I put on my dress (which turned out to be the same style as the very first one that I had delivered when I opened The Little White Dress) I loved it, it was big and frilly and fussy and the opposite of what I thought I would wear, but I liked the fact it was different. Mine was by a Parisian designer called Cymbeline, I love their dresses so much! My other dress will now be worn for a Summer Garden Party we are planning for everyone who couldn’t make the wedding.
Having not had time to visit The Lodge before the wedding I just went with what they suggested, but found decor needed was minimal due to the backdrop and the arts and craft movement throughout out the house. There was no colour scheme, due to it being such an intimate affair I asked everyone to wear whatever they felt comfortable in then tied the colours together with a mixed spring bouquet.
I had an amazing day and loved every second and with such a fabulous venue, I felt like one very lucky lady!
Wow, how amazing is that lodge!? Just gorgeous and it looks as if Amy had the perfect day. Thank you for sharing with us Amy!
