How to Dress your Best Girls {Bridesmaid Dress Inspiration}

Now that you are engaged to be married, you’ve probably already asked your best girls to be your bridesmaids. Here are a few tips and tricks to help you choose the perfect bridesmaid dresses.

Comfort is the key: Every woman is different so it might be difficult to get one dress in one colour that suits all your bridesmaids. When choosing their dresses take into account their body shape, their hair colour and their skin tone. These factors will help determine which type of dress suits who. To get around this issue you could opt for dresses that are all the same style but each one is a different colour. This would make sure that each bridesmaid is in a colour that compliments their hair and skin tone. Another option would be to have different styled dresses but all in the same colour. This would combat any issues with body shape. If your bridesmaids have drastically different body shapes or sizes this would allow the bridesmaids to wear a style that is flattering. And why not combine the two options, have different styles and colours to fully compliment each bridesmaid. One company that achieves both, is the fabulous Twobirds and we are huge fans of them here at Save the Date!  Their strapline ~ one dress that can be wrapped fifteen different ways! Yes fifteen! They have also recently launched their exciting new Tulle Collection so be sure to check these out!

The opinion of the bridesmaids: It is very important to include your bridesmaids’ opinions and feelings when choosing their dresses, after all they’re the ones that have to wear the dresses! Asking them what colours and styles suit them would also be a big help if you needed some inspiration. We think it is very important to make sure your bridesmaids are happy and comfortable on your big day so that they too can enjoy themselves.

Fashion doesn’t always mean a big price tag: Have you ever considered getting your bridesmaids dresses from the high street? Shops such as Zara, Debenhams and House of Fraser have a wide selection of beautiful dresses that would be perfect for bridesmaid dresses. ASOS have also recently launched a bridesmaid dress section on their website which you need to check out! Especially if you are looking for a more smart-casual style, or dresses that are above the knee rather than to the floor. They can be just as good as designer dresses for a fraction of the price. Your bridesmaids might even re-use the dress for another event! Here are a selection of bridesmaids dresses to give you some inspiration…
