Have Yourself a ‘Nupitials Spectacular’ Funfair Wedding ~ Theme Thursday

Roll up, roll up! Step this way! Theme Thursday presents today’s inspiration and top tips for (drum roll please)… Funfair weddings!

Having a funfair inspired wedding can truly make your wedding a ‘nuptials spectacular.’

This theme will make sure that your guests of all ages will have a great time at your wedding. The funfair games will keep everyone entertained throughout the whole day. We’re sure it will bring back some very fond memories of funfair’s from the past for your older guests, and create really great new ones for everyone!

For fun and games there are many aspects of a funfair you can recreate at your wedding. Games such as Coconut Shy’s, Ring Toss, Splat the Rat, and Hook-a-Duck are great to have at the reception, whether it’s outside or indoors, these require very simple set up but create tonnes of fun for all. If you are looking for a bigger wow factor you could opt for bigger games such as a Rodeo Bull, or a Hall of Mirrors – could you imagine the havoc your guests will cause on these games after one to many drinks?!

Choosing your food and drinks for a funfair wedding couldn’t be easier and much more fun compared to a normal wedding. Instead of a sit down menu that requires planning with a caterer, why not have food trucks, food stalls, and dessert tables. These are all in the spirit of funfair’s and it’s exactly the kind of food and drink you would expect to find at a funfair. Food to have includes, doughnuts, burgers, sweets and chocolate. A great idea would be to hire a vintage popcorn cart and serve your guests paper bags of fresh warm popcorn. We believe that an absolute essential food item would be toffee apples! Why not create a toffee apple building station where your guests can dip apples into toffee and decorate them with nuts, fruit, and sprinkles – that’s a treat that’s hard to beat!

We all know that funfair’s are bright, bold and full of life. You can recreate the funfair atmosphere by having a colour scheme that includes bright colours such as red, yellow and blue. Your wedding stationary could be created to look like funfair posters and leaflets. We’ve all seen that vintage funfair/circus large lettering – perfect for your wedding!

However you decide to create your funfair wedding, we believe it should be about everyone having a relaxed laid-back day with lots of fun – just like at a real funfair.

We hope this has given you lots of inspiration for your wedding. Click here to see a funfair themed wedding we featured on the blog.
