Mary-Ann from Thomasina Brides wanted to create a stunning photo shoot that would showcase her beautiful hand made bridal accessories. She teamed up with some lovely suppliers who helped her photo shoot become a success!

Over to Mary-Ann to tell you all about the photo shoot…

“I hand make wedding accessories in the Amber Valley Derbyshire, and I love my job! What nicer way to spend my time than sewing accessories for a bride to wear on their wedding day? On my travels I am like a magpie collecting vintage treasure such as antique lace or an art deco tiara. Some require a little TLC before they are ready to feature in the chapter of a new love story.

My reason for organising the photo shoot is that I needed some professional lifestyle shots of my accessories being worn so that I could market them successfully. It’s one thing seeing a beautiful hair ornament photographed against a white background and quite another seeing it worn in the hair of a lovely bride.

I chose Callow Hall Country Hotel as the setting because it has both a beautiful interior as well as the Secret Garden and surrounding views outside, which are stunning. If I were to get married again (I have no plans to!) I would pick this venue to do it! The hotel staff were so helpful and accommodating of our needs on the day, and they provided a delicious lunch!

Not having organised a photo shoot before I wasn’t sure what to expect, and when the morning began with rain plus one of the models arriving poorly I began to have doubts as to whether I could pull it off!

I shouldn’t have worried though. Lizzie Malcolm of Elizabeth Malcolm bridal wear kindly lent me some of her exquisite wedding dresses for the day; Lipstick and Curls did a fabulous job of styling the two models hair and make-up, so that unless you were there on the day you would never believe that Zoe was ill! Steve Horsley did a fantastic job with his cameras capturing some absolutely beautiful images. In the end, it could not have gone better!”
