| GETTING TO KNOW | Alrewas Hayes
Set within 100 acres of private landscaped gardens and open parkland in rural Staffordshire, Alrewas Hayes is a historical country estate where exceptional event experiences happen and a place to escape from the everyday.
Owner Bonnie Williams shares her predictions on what she believes we can expect to see throughout 2020 when it comes to country estate weddings.
Vegan vibe
As more people become conscious of their food choices, the trend towards vegetarianism and veganism is definitely not short-lived. Couples need to accommodate guests’ dietary preferences in an inventive, tasty and aesthetically pleasing way which is why we offer couples full vegan menus that include creative canapés, meat-free main and delicious dairy-free desserts.
Informal and relaxed
We are seeing increased requests for long, banqueting tables covered with low-level flower arrangements and interactive feasting – from grazing tables, sharing-inspired menus, carve at the table options and cheese and dessert boards – where guests can help themselves, so that guests can socialise easily; the setting becomes much less formal and more relaxed but still very special.
Let me entertain you
Entertainment is no longer just for the drink’s reception and the evening party, but rather couples are starting to find unique ways of entertaining guests – from unusual musicians to caricature artists – and this is playing a bigger role in the overall wedding day vibe. Food and drink as entertainment is also on the rise – from interactive food to the possibility of adding some fun to your fizz with immersive cocktail bars for everyone to enjoy.
Put on a show
Combine the heritage of a country estate venue with the latest tech by turning your wedding day into a full production. Couples are looking for something different, interesting and totally bespoke to them in 2020. With the choice of world-class lighting, sound and staging systems, image mapping, pyro waterfalls (indoor fireworks) and even the option of live streaming the day, the possibilities are endless when it comes to state-of-the art production at Alrewas Hayes.
Personal statements
From large floral arches and whimsical aisle runners, to smoke bombs in the grounds and balloon displays, as well as environmentally friendly indoor fireworks, we are increasingly seeing individuality and personality come further and further to the fore.
Colour palette
Gold is having another moment with couples introducing the colour in various shades in as little or as much as they want, from chargers to glass rims and candlesticks.
Alrewas Hayes is offering £1500 off the total cost of a wedding booked to take place on any remaining 2020 dates. Offer subject to availability. Terms and conditions apply.
