Charlotte, the creative director of Frond & Bloom, certainly knows a thing or two about wedding flowers. With a combined love of art, travelling and beautiful flowers, Charlotte has become known for her unique and creative style. Her designs are timeless with a modern edge, with an undeniable romance. Covering weddings throughout the East Midlands, the team work out of their studio – which happens to be right next door to their cutting garden where they grow their very own posies. Today, we’re chatting to Charlotte to find out a little more about the inspiration behind Frond & Bloom and how they can be a part of your big day plans…

Tell us about your business and where it began?

Our creative director Charlotte was born in Yorkshire and raised between Ascot and Johannesburg, South Africa. She has always had a passion for art and it is this, along with her love of travel and of course flowers which have influenced her signature style.

The seed which would grow to become Frond & Bloom was planted two years ago when Charlotte’s best friend, knowing of her love of flowers and all things creative, asked her for help with the flowers for her wedding. Before she knew it Charlotte had gone from offering some advice to creating full floral installations for her outdoor tipi wedding and from that point onward she has never looked back.

What do you feel makes your service and flowers stand out from the crowd?

Charlotte’s background working in the creative industry means she is no stranger to following a brief. We think what sets us apart is our ability to help our customers unearth their own creativity.

We work very closely with all of our clients to help them visualise their ideas and then bring them to life with a touch of Frond and Bloom’s unique style.

We like to think our designs are timeless, without ever being old fashioned and modern, without being unemotional and thanks to our very own cutting garden we are able to offer flowers which are not always readily available elsewhere helping us give our creations that extra special bloom for your big day.

What do you love most about being involved in the wonderful world of weddings?

It is really difficult to say what we love most about being involved in the wonderful world of weddings. Playing even a small part in the success of someone’s special day is hugely rewarding. We get a big kick out of helping our clients realise their creative ideas, hearing someone say, “it’s even better than we imagined” means we’ve done our job. But we have to admit, it’s hard to beat the look on a bride’s’ face when she sees her bouquet for the very first time.

What trends do you see for 2018?

We think there will be a continuation of oversized asymmetrical designs and a greater emphasis on the natural look. The bold and brave will embrace the wild aesthetic, with bouquets full of lush foliage. That’s not to say that flowers will be taking a back seat however, expect to see bright show-stopping blooms at the forefront.
