First up, it’s the fabulous Darby and Joan; take it away:

Who are you and what do you do?

Darby & Joan, a Derbyshire company passionate about enduring the beauty of china & crockery from years gone by.

Everyone loves to be individual & to create a wedding or party that is a little bit different. Do you love the idea of a vintage themed event?  Modern vintage means a classic, elegant & timeless style.  Those thoughtful touches will add a touch of glamour & bring a talking point to any table, room or garden party. If you don’t want to embrace the whole vintage theme then why not have a more traditional day with elements picked out which are undeniably vintage?

Darby & Joan can work with you to help you achieve the style you are looking for. We have an ever-growing collection of hand picked, beautiful English bone china & accessories & can help you to style your event.

We source beautiful vintage pieces to create bespoke items, unique cake stands, tea cup candles & candles poured into delicate glasses.

If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be¬†doing?

I can’t think of anything else that I would do – it has been a huge decision to set up my company¬†and I love it.

If you could provide your service for any couple in the world (famous or not) who would it be and why?

Darby & Joan are working with a fabulous client for a fabulous wedding next year..watch this space!! For us as a company and for me personally, it is going to be a BIG big day.

What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?

Darby & Joan exhibited at the first Save the Date show and it was a wonderful experience, meeting other inspirational exhibitors & excited brides-to-be.  The event in October promises so much & it will be everything it promises to be.

Who are you and what do you do?

We are you can with a camper van!  We offer a unique vehicle hire, giving you that wedding with a difference, arriving in retro style!

¬†If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be doing?

We would be traveling the world rescuing VW camper vans, bringing them back to health for everyone to enjoy!

If you could have any bride in the world as your client (celebrity or not, married or not), who would it be? And why?

Peppermint the camper would love to take Carrie Bradshaw (sex in the city), slipping into our Camper in her funky designer dress, stylish retro shoes and then being driven to her 5 star luxury Honeymoon

What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?

We are looking forward to people meeting and greeting our van Peppermint, sitting in her and imagining arriving in retro style on their special day.  We will also be distributing our free goodie bags to those lucky 100 random visitors.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Rachel and under the guise of Tattered Rose, I create ready to wear and bespoke handmade wedding accessories. I specialise in unique hair accessories, incorporating vintage pieces with Swarovski crystals and pearls.  I have also recently added a selection of handmade jewellery to the collection.  I try and create things that are different from what is available on the high street; I am also able to work closely with brides to create something completely bespoke and include pieces of sentimental value like Grandma’s pearls to create a truly personal accessory to treasure forever.

If you weren’t doing what you are, what do you think you would you be doing?

I’d be extremely frustrated and probably have the world’s biggest collection of hair accessories and jewellery!  I love creating things and being able to share this and create things for others makes it so rewarding. I got married 2 years ago and I made a lot of things for our own wedding, including a tiara for myself and jewellery and headbands for my bridesmaids.  I had so many lovely comments about these pieces that I decided there may be a market for my handmade accessories so here I am!

If you could provide your service for any couple in the world (famous or not) who would it be and why?

Although quite impossible, I would have loved to create a fabulous hair accessory for my Grandmother to wear at her wedding.¬† She got married in the late 1940‚Äôs so brand new jewellery and accessories wouldn‚Äôt have been an option.¬† It would have been an exciting creative challenge to ‚Äėmake do and mend‚Äô using whatever was available to produce something new and special just for her.

What are you most looking forward to at the wedding event with a difference?

I was lucky enough to exhibit at the first wedding event with a difference back in February and had a thoroughly lovely day.  The Roundhouse is a fabulous setting and there was such a great atmosphere.  It was so refreshing to see so many individual and unique stalls offering fabulous products and services. The concept of making the event interactive worked really well for me, I felt that the visitors to my stand at appreciated being able to see how the pieces are made. It was great being able to illustrate the fact that each piece is handmade and genuinely unique.
